Arcathia: The new Order

Welcome to Arcathia - or Equilibrium as it's residents known the world.

On the surface, this is a low-fantasy setting which embraces themes of geo-political conflict, deep rooted history and powerful cultures locked in a state of decaying empires. It is a world which tethers on the brink of total war.   - Yet, below the tip of this iceberg Arcathia seeks to shatter all the rules into tiny fragments. It is a vast creation that does not hard-focus on a few genres for the entire setting, but reflects the author's passion for exploring a vast array of thematics. This is done by separating them based on the localization of scale - like how some tales are better played out on a regional level, while others require a national expanse to thrive; - Alternatively this is also carried out by basing different geological locations on sub-genres that match the nature of the regions, and by extent, the cultures that reside there. Such as desert locale's being run on a mix between steam and dieselpunk to match the technological evolution from the late 1800's into an early 1900's era.   It is a world that crafts different ideas into protagonists and antagonists, whom further forge these ideas into factions and weapons. They are the inner workings of Arcathia's rotting empires, and they are all struggling for control.   Manipulated by cults and pantheons that seek to empower their gods through rite and faith. Entities that may seem immortal as fueled by their worshippers belief, yet grounded in once mortal legends and icons that can still be banished, for a time, by bullets and blade.   Exploited by a desperate aristocratic elite, threatned by revolution in technology and literacy. Seeking the power and means to thwart the rise of legal institutions, enterprising companies and criminal organisations that prey on the opportunitiy of a growing power vaccum.   Harnessed by militant political groups that battle toe to toe with internationally founded guilds, as well as magical circles and academic universities. Seeking power from the populace and the rulers of the world to grow their personal agendas.   All locked in a brewing conflict for the ultimate price. To be the force that wrests control of the chaos and steers the course of history for the next century. To become the founders and dominance of a new World Order - and yet, something even darker lurk in the shadow beyond Equilibrium. Watching with patience as brothers and sisters weaken themselves.
