“If even a god can fall, then what reward is there in a blessing? How does borrowed power compare to what we can take for our own? If you ask me, evil is not to take matters into your own hands. Evil is to pray for salvation rather than forcing it to come.”
-Gunther Kueglemann
The Edicts
- You shall take that which the world owes you, not borrow it.
- You shall embrace no deity nor icon be they holy, unholy or anything in between.
- You shall see yourself as above all chains of command, except for within the Black Church.
- You shall claim no virtue, as they are mere lies to hold you back.
- You shall do whatever it takes to further our cause.
- You shall forsake all connotations of family. We are all bound by one blood here.
- You shall forsake Ysand and all the lies told in his name.
Dark Philosophies
The Edicts of the Long Night are a group of commandments made for the Black Church - as an ideological weapon to keep the
Dominus-Praetorius’ subjects in check. An antithesis to the Golden Empire’s faith in Ysand, which is also tailored to sow disorder and unrest among Ysand’s followers by urging them to question him and the morals which he imposed upon the Golden Dunes.
Written by the
Orator-Praetorius - the edicts also serve as a reminder of the Black Church’s ultimate goal. To raise the fallen Ysand from his grave as a vampire to guide them on their path of domination.
