The Grankor Empire use Sun Batteries to store pure solar energy, and as a way to transfer this energy into their technology. There are a few types of Sun batteries that are mass produced by the empire, some are bigger than others, meaning they can hold way more energy, while others are pocket size, and are mainly used as small charging stations. Some very advanced batteries can store entire suns worth of energy, which makes them very volatile and dangerous, and extremely destructive if in the wrong hands

How they work

Its not well known how sun batteries work, just that they do. To charge one up, you have to place it in direct sunlight, for a certain amount of time. Depending on the size, efficiency and proximity of the sun battery, affects the speed of charge. For example, if a battery is really big, it will take more time to charge up than a smaller battery, or if a battery is much closer to a sun, it will also charge up significantly quicker.

Integration

Sun Batteries are very versatile, as they offer an inexpensive, easy, quick way to access power. Because most technology in the Grankor Empire uses Sun Batteries, you can easily plug them into most weapons, ships, and gadgets. However, the batteries don't integrate so well into magic, as the energy stored isn't in a gemstone, and is in a technological prison. Although, there is some rare, expensive gear that enables a magician to slowly transfer the energy stored inside a battery, directly into his body, and then into a Gemstones.
