Chapter Three - The Divine Hierarchy

Detailing the different types of divine entities and how they make up the divine hierarchy.

The Divine Hierarchy (Brief)

Divine Entities

Gods (or Goddesses)

A godly being is any divine entity that has enough followers and receives enough worship from sentient mortals to be known as a figure of worship (this can be either a good or evil figure of worship. This means that, although deities and sometimes titans are normally the only beings to be considered a god, it is theoretically possible for any divine entity to become a god and there have been rare cases of archangels and even some demideities becoming gods for a short period of time.
However, in the case of beings that get their divinity from another divine entity (archangels, angels and demidivine), it's unexpected for their godhood to be a lasting state, since the entity that they received their divinity from will most likely be unhappy with one of their creations being considered a god of its own, and will, therefore, put an end to its godhood by one way or another.
There is also the rare case of a god manifesting through the worship and faith of a considerable number of sentient beings. In which case, the god's power, form and abilities will directly correlate to the number of believers the god has and exactly what those beliefs are.
Furthermore, The Divine Order categorises gods by the amount of worship they receive and followers they have as either, a member of one of the three tiers of godhood (Protapanthea, Deutapanthea or Tritapanthea) or, as a lesser god (which refers to all gods with too small a number of followers to be categorised into one of the three tiers). Due to The Order's method of measurement for categorisation, however, the strength of the god isn't taken into account, meaning that it's entirely possible (although extremely unlikely) for a lesser god to be as strong as a god considered a member of the Protapanthea.

Titans

Titans are beings of unknown origin (possibly from the Void, possibly from another reality) with equal or greater power to that of a deity. Similar to deities, titans are non-corporeal beings that only take on a physical form when they choose to do so. However, unlike deities, titan's generally aren't limited in power to specific domains (the reason for this remains unknown).

Deities

Deities are the non-corporeal beings that created most of the realms and, generally, originated from the Void of this reality. There are, however, exceptions to that, such as the sixteen Arkanians turned deities and the rare case of mortals sealing a deity in their physical form and then taking over said form, thereby stealing the deities power and becoming a deity themselves. Due to a deity's power in one or more attributes and them being the creators of most realms and the residing species the majority of sentient species worship, or hold reverence towards, one or more deities.

Archangels

Created by a deity or titan as their personal servitor or to rule over their domain, archangel's are immortal corporeal beings gifted with some amount of their creator's strength. Due to an archangel's ability to properly wield divine magic, they're often capable of feats just as miraculous as an actual deity or titan. As for arcane magic, an archangel's arcane attribute or attributes will nearly always be the same as their creator's, allowing them to use spells that their creator would normally use. Since the strength of an archangel relies so much on the strength of their creator, it is entirely possible for some archangels to be even stronger than the average deity.

Angels

Created by a deity or titan to serve their archangel or help rule over their domain, an angel is an immortal corporeal being with a small amount of their deities strength. Unlike archangels, angel's have very little affinity for divine magic and, as such, will more often than not use arcane magic over divine magic. However, unlike archangels, an angel's arcane attribute (or attributes) is generally something of their choosing, rather than one (or multiple) of their creator's attributes.

Demidivine

(Demititans, Demideities, Demiarchs and Demiangels)
Born of (or of the blood of) any divine entity with enough divinity, demidivine are corporeal (in some cases immortal) beings whose strength varies greatly depending on both pure chance, and which divine entity they get their divinity from. With some being as powerful as a deity and some no more powerful than the average of their species, demidivine differ from most divine entities in that, like angels, demidivine often have very limited access to divine magic and their arcane attribute (or attributes) are rarely dependent on the attributes belonging to the divine entity that they get their divine status from. Depending on the personality of the entity that they gained their divinity from, many demidivine will be chosen as scions for that divine entity and it's not unheard of for deities to choose demidivine to help rule over their domain with them.

Non-Divine Entities

Scions

(Clerics & Paladins, etc..)
Scions are the chosen of a godly being and have been gifted with divine powers that elevate them to their standing and allow them to fulfil their patron's wishes. Although not technically divine entities themselves, scions do still hold a place in the divine hierarchy, due to their status as one of the chosen of a god or goddess.

Servitors

Servitors are entire races or species created for the sole purpose of doing the bidding of their creator (a deity or titan) or populating their domain. Due to this, servitors don't actually hold any divinity at all but, as a race or species created specifically to serve a divine entity in some way, do hold a place at the bottom of the divine hierarchy.
