Gustav I. "Der Erboberer"
Gustav was the Holy Emperor that initially attacked the elven realm of Vaenion.
Although he conquered the unprepared wood dwelling people in just a few years, he was not able to stabilize the newly acquired territories.
Besides awarding several fiefdoms to human nobles to pacify the region, there was always the threat of rebellion. Putting his son Theobald I. "Der Unterdrücker in charge of overseeing the region, proved to be a mistake, since Theobald only made the tensions worse.
But Gustav couldn't focus all his work on the north east of the empire, so he diverted his attention to the north, capturing the south of Nordland from the Kingdom of Nordland.
He is still regarded to be one of the most successful conquerors in the history of the empire.
