Editor's Response
Thank you, Catoblepon, for prompting such a question!
In preparation for Summer Camp, Catoblepon is currently giving our members at Story-Teller's Circle hard-hitting questions and Prompts! Catoblepon has kept us engaged with relevant Inquiries about our projects. Thank you, Catoblepon! This question comes from a group of inquiries asked of the Story-Tellers.
As it relates to World Anvil's Prompts- be they Summer Camp, World Ember, or various other Challenges, I emphatically say, yes, absolutely! Personally, I like the challenge of writing within a constraint, a pre-defined form, and the gravity a Prompt can place on the output. Make the Prompt work for you!
Be consistent in your approach. That's just great general advice. It also relates to writing Prompts for Challenges and Competitions. If you're aiming for the higher Article count, this becomes incredibly important. 32+ Articles is at maximum, a month and a day worth of writing. Keep in mind: you can always revise later!
I've written several Articles for Prompts that come to mind, including a few mentioned in this Newsletter. I'd argue that any Article written for a Prompt is significant for your setting. Speaking of, I'd like to hear about yours! Let us know in the Comments Below what Prompts had dynamic impact in your setting!

"I keep one memory close. The sun on my face. And a breeze with some purpose. If I can hold onto just this, I won’t lose it, no matter where Time takes us."
Question! Question!
What's your best writing tip for Summer Camp?
- What challenges you at this Time? Is it the Prompts or Time-Management? Are you motivated by the Prizes or Badges? What's your success secret?
- I find managing your Time is important. Have a plan. Know your flow. Take a break. Consistent persistence. And you can always revise later. But, what drives you?
What's your favorite Summer past-time?
- Is there a certain Summer activity that you enjoy? Perhaps a vacation spot? Or a treasured memory? Maybe it's a food or drink? What's your favorite thing about Summer?
- Oh, Summer evenings- absolutely. That nice cool-down, the setting sun. Reading and writing during the Summer has long been a favorite tradition of mine.

Under the Hood
This month's Under the Hood features base changes to the initial Arx-Core D20 System. This short segment describes an important shift in the scope of Arc Sagas. Click below! Arx-Core D10's System
What is changing in Arc Sagas?
At it's heart, the Arx-Core D10's System is still a D20 system. Now, the base system will use Dice Pools- D10's to be specific- to determine rates of Success. This will allow more variation in roll chance, granting GM's and Player's more narrative control of their outcomes. Initially, this project was designed to be a D20 system, but as I innovate and learn more about design and what I can achieve, I found that this could be an exciting way to create something familiar but also unique. This is a fluid project; as such, what's established today could be innovated tomorrow. That's Arc Sagas, baby. What could that look like?
v01.02: Arx-Core D10's System features D10 Pools when determining rates of Success- be that in or out of Combat. These are connected to a Player's Base Attributes and Modifiers.
A GM sets a Difficulty Value based on potential Success or Failure. Players rolls a number of D10's related to their Attribute Score and related Modifier. An Advantage system may increase the Success Rate or reward Automatic Successes. There are multiple ways to Modify outcomes. Sometimes, rolls might not be required!
Players enhance their odds of Success by choosing Talents and Proficiencies and increasing their Attribute's Maximum Rank.

Base Attribute/ Modifier:
Power: 5 / +2.

Written as:
(Attribute/ Proficiency): DV/ +
# of Successes (Success Rate)
Example:
Push a heavy object. (Power): 6/+2

- Check that Modifier is > Success Rate. Can't attempt if < than Success Rate.
- Modifications on rolls are applied in this step, such as Advantage.
- Roll XD10, where X is Power Modifier.
In this example, roll 2d10. - Each Roll above 6 is a Success.
This Action requires 2 Successes.

Roots of Origin
"There are unseen tethers winding through the World, bound to each single Soul. This is most prominent in the Plant Kingdom; that which burrows clings not just to the soil, but also to deep, primal memories. Each Plant remembers the ancestor that came before, and through the generations, their verdant tendrils connect to a central place of Origin. Coiling throughout Time, planted seeds spread their roots into the reaches of the eternal, and an infinite garden recalls. What suffers from seed to growth gains meaning from a moment of existence, and the wisdom of all that which came before."
Back to the Roots
Something is shifting in Arc Saga's Historical Landscape! A World, suspended, adrift in Time's throes, forgets an unraveling Past as the Roots of Origin cling to what once was. The question’s not about the Roots of Origin. The question is: where do we begin?
Next Month: All new Article, "Roots of Origin", continues!
