Personal history
Lorian came from nothing. The bastard son of a noble from the now Fortress City of Etherwatch, he was cast out. As luck or irony would have it, he would catch word of his father's death at the age of 12. Now a young member of Boubles and Trinkets, a orginisation in the repossesion of goods, he cared little for this news. He had never depended on the man that would abandon him. Only later would he realise he now was the only air to the Grant Family.
At the age of 16 he would be save by a wandering wizard. Having come upon rough times, he had to resort back to his old habits of stealing food at the time. This would have been fine, had not the guard captain been the one to catch him in the act. It was by the wizard's mercy his fingers or hands were spared. The man fed him, show him some tricks and gave him a few gold pieces.
Some people never change, however. And Lorian was only good at one thing.
At the age of 24 he had a son, a boy name Jack, raised in the streets of Etherwatch. He was no longer stealing for himself then. He had a family to feed.
As time went, Lorian found himself capable of casting small spells. Nothing quite as grand as the wizard had shown him, but quite useful in their own way.
At the age of 30 he did the impossible. He emptied half a caravan of its goods, without a drop of blood spilled. For two years, he could feed his family without risking himself on new adventures.
At the age of 32, Jack got sick. Desperate for money to help cure his ailing boy, Lorian tried to catch lightning in a bottle once more. Employing the same tactics as before, the convoy came to a halt to fix the wheel on the lead cart. It wasn't until the third wagon that he was caught. A halfling scout caught him and after a short fight, subdued him. He was sentenced with attempted theft and was to have all the fingers on his left hand removed. The halfling took his middle finger first. Lorian might never forgive him for that. It was then, maybe for the first time in his life, that luck smiled on Lorian. A band of goblins attacked the caravan. In the confusion he became invisible, another trick his magical efforts had afforded him, and escape.
To his relieve, Jack did not succumb to his illness, despite the limited medicine he could procure.
At the age of 34, fate finally caught up to Lorian. A messenger came. The wizard he had met years before. The one that had save him on the streets that desperate day. Turns out he had been keeping an eye on him and his family. But now his will arrived. One that wished to be delivered to him personally. It pleaded for him to head south and aid the wizard's master, Archmage Delivan, in the protection of his land and all beyond. Lorian had a dept to pay and he was many things, but he was no coward, nor did he lack honour. He would head south, regardless of consequences.
In the battle, as the end was at hand, Lorian was hit by an imprisonment spell cast by Vaz'gonith, the slayer of Delivan. No one has seen him since and only Vaz'gonith's words remain.
