Tormentsreach Keep
Tormentsreach Keep, perched upon a jagged, obsidian plateau on the accursed continent of Tri'aa, is a festering wound upon the world—a dark fortress that embodies the malevolence of its master, Malkevor, the Harbinger of Pain. The keep's history is one of unrelenting agony and despair, a reflection of the demonic forces that reside within its accursed walls.
Built upon a site tainted by millennia of suffering, Tormentsreach Keep emerged from the tortured earth like a malignant growth. Its ominous spires, black as night, reached toward the heavens like claws eager to ensnare the souls of the living. Each stone was imbued with dark magic, and the very ground upon which the keep stood seemed to groan in agony.
Upon the completion of the fortress, Malkevor's demonic legions swept across Tri'aa in a tidal wave of torment. The keep's malevolent energies surged, corrupting the land and sowing despair wherever they touched. It was within these haunted walls that Malkevor claimed this land, this keep to be his ebony throne radiating an aura of unending pain.
Within the depths of Tormentsreach Keep lies the infamous Labyrinth of Agony—a sprawling, nightmarish maze where the tormented souls of the damned wander in eternal suffering. The labyrinth serves as both a prison for the souls of the guilty and a source of dark power for Malkevor. The echoing screams and anguished cries of the damned are a constant reminder of the horrors that dwell within the keep.
At the heart of the keep lies the Throne of Pain, a gruesome and nightmarish seat of power. Forged from still living flesh of those who dared defy Malkevor's will roiling in constant agony, the throne is said to be cursed, causing unimaginable suffering to anyone who sits upon it. It is from this seat that Malkevor's General Varkulon the Scourge of Souls orchestrates his malevolent plans, spreading pain and torment throughout Tri'aa.
Tormentsreach Keep, with its cursed walls and twisted architecture, stands as a beacon of despair on the war-torn continent of Tri'aa. It is a testament , a symbol of relentless suffering, and a grim reminder of the horrors that infest Tri'aa. As long as the keep endures, the forces of Malkevor will continue to spread pain and suffering, seeking to subjugate all who dare stand in their way.
History
In the shadowed annals of the accursed continent of Tri'aa, the malevolent Tormentsreach Keep stands as a sinister sentinel. Its history is one of dread and despair, distinct from the other fortresses that perpetuate the eternal three-front war between the devils of Pheros, the demons of Malkevor, and the undead of Voruthaal.
Long ago, before the continent became a crucible of eternal war, a desperate sorcerer named Varkulon sought forbidden power. In his insatiable quest for supremacy, he made a pact with Malkevor, the Harbinger of Pain. This unholy covenant bound Varkulon's soul to the service of the demon lord, granting him dark knowledge and unimaginable power in exchange for unwavering servitude.
Varkulon's ascension into demonic power was swift and brutal. He gathered a cabal of followers, each willing to offer their souls to Malkevor in exchange for dark power. Together, they constructed Tormentsreach Keep upon a desolate plateau, infusing it with demonic energies that resonated with anguish and torment.
Within the heart of Tormentsreach Keep, Varkulon and his acolytes constructed a cursed labyrinth, known as the Labyrinth of Eternal Agony. This sprawling maze was designed to eternally trap the souls of those who dared to enter, subjecting them to unending suffering. The labyrinth served both as a prison for the souls of the guilty and a wellspring of dark power for VVarkulon and his followers.
Varkulon's malevolent rule extended beyond the confines of the fortress. He declared himself the Demon Sorcerer-King, and his reign was marked by cruelty and sadism. Tormentsreach Keep became a bastion of misery and torment, radiating an aura of dread that blighted the land for miles around.
As the centuries passed, the labyrinth beneath Tormentsreach Keep grew ever more notorious. Its cursed halls became home to the anguished souls of countless victims. Voragor's power swelled with each tortured spirit, and his dominion over the keep solidified.
