  Trade
Oghrann exports many metals and is known as the sole exporter of Everbright and one of the few exporters of Arandur. Oghrannian Dwarves are known as master enchanters and they specialize in the development of runic magic.   History
In -5200 DR during the fall of the great dwarven empire of Shanatar in the Lands of Intrigue (Lake of Steam, Amn, Tethyr) a few dwarf clans decided to move North, but not so far as the Delzoun who inhabited the lands beneath Neverwinter and the Silver Marches, or the Ammarindar dwarves who were just south of them in the Greypeak Mountains (directly west of Anauroch, or Netheril at their time). They rested between the nation of Shanatar and Ammarindar in the Sunrise Mountains directly west of Cormyr and east of Elturgard far before their construction. The dwarves here found a new ore which they named Everbright after its luminous glow even in its non-refined state.   In -3770 DR, after many reigns of many kings and prosperity throughout the city, which had become a metropolis of trade and dwarves, the city began to experience influxes of monsters from both the underdark and the surface. They fought the problem occassionally, but Oghrann was a near un-invadable fortress and the dwarves were fine in their home. In -3720 DR a plague struck the city and most of the dwarves were killed, and staying in their fortress city with a plague was just making it worse. They began to send dwarven parties out to find new places with safe routes to them, but most of them were slain and this allowed for infiltration of the city by the monsters. A rapid evacuation occurred and the dwarves moved out of oghrann, into the far hills and over to settlements like Thunderholme.   For almost 4000 years the city lay dormant, filling with monsters and being looted by various creatures. In 616 DR the dwarves that had fled to Thunderholme became weary when they discovered Shadow Dragon activity in the area and the rulers did nothing about it.   In 1142 DR the leader of the city declared the opening of a great new temple, but not who it was dedicated to. It intrigued most of the dwarves of the city and almost all of them came to it. The dwarven leader shocked the populus by revealing the new temple was dedicated to the Dragon God of Death, Null, and the leader (who had gone mad) opened the door to the temple revealing the shadow dragon, who proceeded to kill all of its inhabitants. It isn’t certain if any escaped Thunderholme before its horrible downfall.   The dwarves of the far hills, hearing of this dwarven massacre and heresy, wanted to reclaim their temples in the city as to not anger their gods and to show them that the dwarves hadn’t turned their back on the old kingdoms and great religious sites.   The dwarves, knowing that they would lose without help, decided to ask the gnomes of the far hills that they befriended to help with their crusade, and that gems, riches, and property within the city would be promised. The gnomes joined the dwarven crusade and in 1145 DR the dwarves entered and began to reclaim their city.   After much fighting they established a safe-haven in the upper, and middle city. They reclaimed most of their mines, but the lower city was still unclaimed. The dwarves ended their crusade in the middle city, gaining back nearly 80% of what was rightfully theirs, and established better routes to the surface for escaping the city.   Since then the dwarves have begun trade with Elturgard, Cormyr, and the Lords Alliance and have delved deep into the study of runic magic as to create a greater safe haven in the city of Oghrann.   Their stance in the War of the Heartlands is undetermined as of now, but the dwarves may be reluctant to join either side due to their long history of death and bloodshed.
