Lira Vayath Thassalar (sometimes called Lira Thassalar, excluding her matronymic Lischin surname) is the ruling Duchess of Khara. The Thassalar family has ruled Khara for generations; Lira, as the eldest daughter of the previous Duke of Khara, was groomed from birth to take the role from her father. Lira ascended to the role of Duchess of Khara in 687, at the age of 36.
