Via stretches far across Aonaran's northern hemisphere, its vast expanse dominated by stunning sights such as underwater caves and grottoes. Via's geological diversity and rich aquatic life make it a wondrous realm to explore, while its interconnected kingdoms give rise to unique cultures, traditions, and ecosystems beneath its shimmering surface.
In between Aeron, the dragon continent, and Elentiya, the human continent, the Livining Ocean forms the Flaming Strait, a treacherous passage where ocean currents collide with fiery turbulence. This stretch is home to the formidable Hydras, a mutated dragon species, lurking beneath the surface.
In between the continents of Elentiya and Morana, the demon continent, Via meets with Aonaran's other ocean, Mortea, the Dead Ocean. Together, they form the Abandoned Bay in between Morana's two peninsulas and Elentiya's Cursed Shore.
As you venture through it, Via opens up to reveal a realm of immense biodiversity. Its crystalline waters host an array of coral reefs and kelp forests that brim with vibrant marine life. The ocean floor descends into abyssal trenches, harbouring creatures yet to be discovered by the surface world.
Five distinctive underwater kingdoms grace the depths of Via, each with its unique charm. Darya, the kingdom of whales, and Malik, the kingdom of serpents, nestle along the ocean's western border, sharing connections with Aeron and the desert landbridge to Morana respectively. Sharul, the realm of sharks, winds through the waters, intertwining with the continents of Elentiya and Morana, showcasing stunning underwater landscapes.
Towards the northeast on the nose of Aeron's dragon-shaped landmass and around its horn, the ethereal Oriana, a kingdom of nymphs, unfolds with its enchanting coral gardens and radiant seascapes. Nimue, the haunting domain of sirens, stretches towards the south, encroaching upon the Abandoned Bay and ensnaring the minds of unsuspecting sailors with their enchanting songs.

Via is a complex tapestry of ecosystems shaped by the interplay between biological organisms and their physical environments. Within this aquatic realm, coral reefs and kelp forests thrive in sunlit shallows, fostering vibrant marine life communities. Seagrass meadows and rocky shores serve as vital nurseries and breeding grounds, supporting a diverse range of species. This abundance of food prompts migrations and a last breeding season for various fish.

Leaf Season

Darya: Darya borders both Aeron and Elentiya. Aeron's Frozen Horn Mountains and the Subarctic Tundra bring cold temperatures during the Leaf and Frost Seasons in the eastern part of Darya. The Arid Desert of the Parched Throat in the north contributes to dry conditions in Darya, impacting the Sun Season. Elentiya's Sorin Desert to the south introduces arid influences, especially during the Sun Season, but the ocean's proximity maintains a milder climate.

Malik: Malik shares borders with Aeron and Morana. Aeron's Parched Throat Desert in the north influences hot and dry conditions during the Sun Season in Malik. Morana's Desert of Despair to the west and southwest adds to the arid climate, creating a harsh environment in the western part of Malik. The Desert of Despair's black sand contributes to unique geological formations in the region.

Sharul: Sharul lies between Morana and Elentiya. Morana's Desert of Despair in the southwest and south affects the arid climate, leading to dry conditions during the Sun Season. The ominous Forsaken Range in the south also shapes the terrain and influences local weather patterns. Elentiya's regions of Kalon and Keitha in the northeast and east introduce more temperate conditions, impacting the northern and eastern parts of Sharul.

  Oriana: Oriana is only bordered by Aeron from the north all around the east to the southwest, where the Frozen Horn Mountains with their subarctic tundra climate bring colder temperatures during the Leaf and Frost Seasons. The presence of the Lava Fangs in the south contributes to occasional volcanic activity, affecting the water temperatures in the south. The Molar Marshlands in the southeast introduce warm, humid air, making this region subtropical and supporting the lush flora of Oriana. The Parched Throat Desert to the east and north influences arid conditions during Sun Season, but the ocean's proximity mitigates extreme heat.

Nimue: Nimue shares borders with Morana and Elentiya. Morana's Forsaken Range in the southwest affects the region's climate, contributing to unique landscapes. The desolate flatland of the Forgotten Shore in the south and Morana's influence create harsh conditions in some parts of Nimue. Elentiya's regions of Keitha, Cerridwen, and Andraste in the north and east introduce temperate and mountainous climates, supporting a variety of ecosystems.

In the early days of Via, before the arrival of the five humanoid species, the ocean was primarily inhabited by marine life, including the formidable Hydras, a mutant dragon species lurking in the Flaming Strait. These ancient and powerful creatures were cast out of the Ravenous Bay by the Ocean Amphithere, for being mutants with multiple heads. They began shaping the ecosystem and becoming a part of the ocean's rich history. As time passed, the emergence of humanoid species added new dimensions to the ocean's story, leading to the creation of kingdoms and the intricate interplay between its diverse inhabitants. It began with the hetaceans, or whale shifters, who, craving the open ocean's song, became stranded in a storm, leaving them with mismatched forms and the birth of Darya, the kingdom of whales. Following them were the himorphas, or shark shifters, whose piratical exploits met an unexpected end, transforming them into the half-shark, half-human inhabitants of Sharul. A shifter civil war led to the creation of the hinaes, or serpents, as they embraced their dual nature. Meanwhile, the fairies' stewardship of the land extended to the ocean, with hetaceans volunteering to become nymphs, founding Oriana to care for marine life. In contrast, the sirens, ensnared by a demon's malevolent magic, emerged from outcast himorphas, luring sailors to their demise in the treacherous waters of Nimue. As these five humanoid species established their kingdoms beneath Via's waves, they became integral to the ocean's rich history, each contributing to the vibrant tapestry of this magical realm.
