Thavma
Thavma is one of the Elven Automaths who stepped from the Gossamer Palace to Awaken the Elves on the First Day. Eschewing the bounds of a single gender, Thavma was seen on the First Day to shift between male and female forms at will, emanating the warm glow of life itself. Like the Human Automath Numenos, Thavma went from Elf to Elf, breathing life into each in turn. Unlike Numenos, the Elves make no claim regarding Thavma being responsible for giving life to all of the Awakened on the first day; they maintain that Thavma was only responsible for bringing life to the Elves. This theological discrepancy was one of the first religious conflicts that had eventually to be resolved before The Pious Union of the Awakened could be agreed upon, as the Elves thought the human claim about Numenos was arrogant, while the Humans in turn thought the Elven position was itself also self-centered.
Regardless, none can dispute the simple joy of life that Thavma emanates. They walked hand in hand with the newly Awakened Elves before consciousness fully came to them, imbuing them all with a love of life and nature as they brought the Awakened before the various plants and animals of Yorth. For this act, there are some (especially outside of Elven society) who view Thavma as capricious or unserious, while devout of Thavma view this exuberance as a necessary part of the condition of life, and see Thavma as an excellent example by which to live.
Worship of Thavma is widespread among Elves, and they are the primary deity for the majority of Elven peoples. Thavma is depicted as either a man or a woman, or with features of both, with a deep olive skin and wild auburn hair. The Wood Elves are said to be made directly in Thavma's image. Many outside of Elven society also worship Thavma, or at least invoke their name in times of revelry and merriment.
Priests and clerics of Thavma practice the domains of Nature, Life, and Peace.
