Numenos
Numenos is one of the three Human Automaths, who stepped out of the Shimmering Hall to Awaken the Humans. Revered by most humans and many other of the Awakened for his stoic silence on the First Day, it was clear that he radiated power and authority. Most followers of Numenos claim, per the records, that it was Numenos who first brought life to the human Awakened, and many of his followers believe that he was actually directly responsible for imbuing all of the Awakened with the essence of life itself.
Though his very essence burned with a searing light, Numenos took care to gingerly step around or float above the flora of The Cradle, and as the Awakened first opened their eyes, many saw him resting in turns after filling many Awakened with life, gazing with fondness upon the plants and animals of Yorth. Many claim also that he brought life itself to the barren Yorth before waking his children, though in more recent times this branch of Numenos-worship has fallen aside in favor of an interpretation that he instead made the Awakened to live in Yorth's resplendent garden.
Worship of Numenos is widespread throughout The Pious Union of the Awakened. He is associated with the Sun and, while he is primarily worshipped by Humans, is also adored by Elves, Dwarves, and Halflings for his sheer radiant light in times of great darkness.
Clerics of Numenos practice the domains of Light, Life, Nature, Peace, and the Grave (it is said that the light of Numenos has left someone as they pass out of this life). While prayers to Numenos clearly get answered by his most devout followers, answers manifest themselves as magic or a compelling force of will rather than direct communication or intervention in Awakened affairs. In times of great need, Angels have been known to aid the faithful of the Awakened, and these powerful creatures are often said to be messengers of Numenos.
