Threat Zones
Subject: Threat Zone Classification System

Document Category: Environmental > Hazard Classification > Threat Zones
Security Classification: Level 1: Public Access
Introductory Overview: In adherence to global best practices for risk mitigation, Dryzor Corp. has formally adopted the Threat Zone Classification System (TZCS). This system, originally developed and standardized by the Adventuring Society Operations Bureau, provides a quantifiable metric for evaluating the statistical probability of encountering hostile entities, environmental hazards, or unlawful societal elements. The primary objective for our adoption of the TZCS is to ensure corporate operational security and provide a clear, color-coded framework for our agents, clients, and colonial administrators.
Section: Threat Zone Designations
Blue Zone (0% Threat Chance): A theoretical classification representing a state of absolute environmental and societal stability. In a Blue Zone, the statistical probability of encountering any form of threat is effectively zero. These zones are characterized by the complete absence of hostile fauna, anomalous phenomena, and criminal activity. Verified, publicly accessible Blue Zones are statistically negligible and often considered subjects of folklore rather than practical cartography.
Green Zone (1%-20% Threat Chance): Green Zones are highly-prized areas where threats are minimal and effectively managed. Colonized Green Zones are exemplars of successful risk mitigation, characterized by robust security infrastructure, high walls, stringent access protocols, and consistent, well-equipped law enforcement patrols. Access is typically restricted. Uncolonized Green Zones are rare natural sanctuaries where indigenous forces or phenomena suppress external threats, though disrupting such ecosystems can have severe consequences.
Yellow Zone (21%-40% Threat Chance): This classification represents the baseline for most stable, colonized urban centers. Yellow Zones contain acceptable levels of societal friction and manageable environmental risks. While criminal elements are present, they do not typically disrupt core infrastructure or governance. A state of personal vigilance and situational awareness is advised for all residents, and local law enforcement maintains a responsive posture. This is the standard operational environment for most Dryzor Corp. commercial and residential holdings.
Orange Zone (41%-60% Threat Chance): Designates areas with elevated and frequent volatility. In civilized sectors, this indicates the pervasive presence of organized crime, active gang conflicts, and insufficient official security coverage. Danger is a common element of daily life. Operational effectiveness in these zones requires proactive security measures and personnel with a high degree of self-sufficiency. Residents are often trained in self-defense as a matter of civic necessity.
Red Zone (61%-80% Threat Chance): A classification for high-intensity environments where danger is a pervasive and dominant factor. These zones are often characterized by open warfare between factions, extreme sociopolitical instability, or the presence of highly aggressive xenofauna. Survival is a daily imperative. While Dryzor Corp. does not maintain permanent holdings in Red Zones, it is noted that these areas produce individuals with exceptional combat and survival aptitudes, making them viable recruitment grounds for high-risk security details and adventuring personnel.
Black Zone (81%-100% Threat Chance): Denotes a non-permissive environment where survival is statistically improbable. These zones exceed all acceptable parameters for sustainable habitation or operation due to catastrophic environmental collapse, insurmountable biological threats, lethal anomalous phenomena, or uncontrolled technological hazards. No colonized area has ever sustained a Black Zone classification. All corporate and civilian travel is strictly forbidden and subject to indefinite interdiction.

//>_ Hacker_Override_Initiated... Karckess on borrowed ideas. //>_ See what they did there? They make it sound all official, like they're playing by the rules. The Adventuring Society cooked this up first, probably with good intentions—a way to warn new bloods not to get themselves eaten. But once a corp like Dryzor gets its claws on a good idea, they twist it for profit. The original point is gone. Now it's just a tool to jack up your rent and your insurance premiums. Classic slither-spined move.

//>_ Hacker_Override_Initiated... Karckess on fairy tales. //>_ Blue Zones are a joke. About as real as a Corp-Rat with a conscience. If they exist at all, they're not for you. They're some CEO's private island or a bunker buried a mile underground. It's propaganda to make you think perfect safety is possible if you just buy into the system. Don't hold your breath.
//>_ Hacker_Override_Initiated... Karckess on high-priced walls. //>_ 'Successful risk mitigation.' Heh. Green Zone is just a fancy way of saying the walls are high enough and the guards are paid enough to keep the dreck out. This is safety as a luxury product. If you've got the creds, you can live somewhere the biggest danger is a sternly-worded noise complaint. The guards aren't there for public safety; they're there to protect the assets inside from everyone on the outside.
//>_ Hacker_Override_Initiated... Karckess on 'acceptable levels.' //>_ 'Acceptable' to them, maybe. From their armored towers. This is where most people live and grind. It means you keep your head on a swivel, your cred-stick in your deepest pocket, and you learn to tell the difference between a firecracker and a gunshot. The local law is too busy or too slither-spined to handle every mugger and thief, so 'personal vigilance' means you're on your own.
//>_ Hacker_Override_Initiated... Karckess on the daily grind. //>_ 'Elevated volatility' is Corp-speak for 'you might catch a stray bullet on your way to get munch.' This is a place where the gangs or the corps make the real rules, not the cops. The sound of sirens is just background noise. You learn to fight, you learn to run, or you learn to bleed. There aren't a lot of other choices.
//>_ Hacker_Override_Initiated... Karckess on the front lines. //>_ 'Viable recruitment grounds.' Listen to that dreck. Only a Corp-Rat would see a hellhole and think 'human resources.' A Red Zone isn't a 'high-intensity environment,' it's a meat grinder. The sight of blood on the street is normal. The sound of gunfire is the local lullaby. You have to be half-schiz to live there and twice as tough to grow up there. It's crazy as Kassidan's parade, and it doesn't build character, it just leaves scars.
Karckess's one piece of free advice. //>_ This part's simple, so listen close. Don't be a trog. Stay the hell out. This isn't a place for glory or riches. This is where the world went wrong—where the plagues didn't get contained, the corporate wars left behind autonomous killing machines, or the very ground is poison. Death is all but guaranteed. This is where the world is broken, and it'll break you, too. No exceptions.
