Air Corps Naming Committee
All airships, air bases, technologies, weapons and almost any other thing the Air Corps uses that needs a name is named by committee. Aircraft are initially not named, but the custom has arisen for pilots to name their craft after the first successful mission. This initial not-naming convention was due to the high rate of change of the crafts, as the Odonats were being developed, they sometimes lasted only months, and the high accident rate didn’t help either.
In addition to names, the Naming Committee also decides on shorthands.
History
The Naming Committee didn't come in to existence with the birth of the Air Corps, it took fifty years before a formal body would be formed that took charge of the naming of all things Air Corps, what now is known as the Naming Committee. Before the committee builders of things decided on names, the army named ships, commanders named systems and tactics. Creating a mess of miscommunication and things with the same or very simular names.
Set up
The Air Corps Naming Committee, is an un-regulated group of individuals who are appointed for life and answer to the Five Marshals of the Royal Army of Eglen. Individuals are normally appointed after being nominated by the Air Corps Lieutenant General. It is comprised of well-respected and experienced Air Corps personnel, some still active, some retired, some well knowledged about the history of the nation, army and air corps. And other respected individuals from the industry.
