44th Infantry Regiment Formica Rufa

Introduction

The 44th Infantry Regiment Formica Rufa is an Airlifted Steam-powered Dragoon Regiment.
Dragoons are mounted infantry, soldiers who fight on foot, but use horses to quickly move to and from a battlefield, or to take a new tactical position. In the modern age of coal and steam, the primitive beasts have been replaced with a Bratag. To get the complete regiment in position faster, they are deployed from an airship.

Size

The regiment is made up of four squadrons, which each consist of two platoons. A single platoon has three hundred dragoons, minus officers and support.
1 regiment = 4 squadrons = 8 platoons = 2400 dragoons
1 squadron = 2 platoons = 600 dragoons
1 platoon = 300 dragoons

Vehicle

The dragoons uses modified Bratag from the Barton & Lucas - Eglen's First Self Powered Wagon Company. The weight has been reduced to equal that of a man. Partly by using lighter parts, but also by installing a smaller fuel tank, reducing its range. But that's not enough to transport them by airships therefore the dragoons ride two to one. So each platoon has a hundred-and-fifty Bratags.

Airship

The dragoons use a standard military transport airship from the Areal Steam Carriage company. Each airship can take a squadron with supplies for direct action. If the regiment is send out on an expedition an extra airship will be required to move the gear for long term deployment.

Weapons

Dragoons are equiped simular to regular light infantry troops in the Royal Army of Eglen.
