The Creation

Da'ell

While stories about the world's creation vary from one religion to another, and from person to person, they all share a common concept: The world was created by the Spirits when they collided with the young Andreval.
'Andreval was a barren place, devoid of life and color. Yet the Spirits noticed this slab of rock and were curious. There was no wind, no crashing waves, no birdsong. The world was silent, and this silence was enough to draw the naive Spirits, for they saw something—a world full of endless potential.   When the Spirits crashed into the barren rock, they caused massive quakes across all of Andreval. Great swaths of land sank to create vast, boundless oceans, while other slabs rose, forming majestic mountains. The rest of the rock shattered and fractured, with lava seeping through the earth's wounds. Some rocks were thrust high into the sky, past the mountains, and into the heavens, creating the moons.   The Spirits then calmed the quakes, stitched the cracks, and tamed the oceans and winds. Once more, this barren rock became still—calm and serene. Waves lapped at jagged cliffs, and winds whistled through great ravines. Yet, Andreval remained empty, lacking life. As the world healed, soon sprouts of green began to pop up, smoothing the rough edges and turning the craggy outcroppings into rolling hills.   The Spirits allowed trees to grow, rivers to flow, and clouds to snow. Animals, great and small, roamed the now-tamed lands. However, other lands did not heal and were abandoned by the Spirits to remain as they were.   The barren rock was reborn into a world full of life and color. Thus, the world was created, and Andreval was born.'   The Writ of History - Defined and signed in 2.309 at the Eight Spire Temple by the True Monarchs, Prime Dean of the University of Dayte, Spriten representative, Avatar of the Theonic Pantheon, and Prothet of Skallin. This formed the official version of how the world was created.
While there are minor differences between cultures, this is the most accepted version of events. It was created by combining the key ideas from each major religion’s version of creation, including the Skallin, Theonic, and Spriten religions. This was done to prevent future religious wars and conflicts.   However, some religions resent the fact that their version was not included in the official statement, causing high tensions between the included and excluded religions and their respective nations.
The Creation Seal
This event took place over a thousand years as the spirits slowly terraformed the world to their liking. Since no mortals were alive during this time, there are no accounts or records of what Andreval was like when the spirits arrived.   These unknowns lead to varying ideas on how the world was formed, and in the past, they have caused minor conflicts between nations.   Related Articless:
