Okon
Okon is a hamlet located in the West county of the Island od Elzai in Fehadla.
It is the centre of a large farming community in the surounding dale and as a popular stop over site for those travelling to the port of Pasaque or the city of Orpon there are always merchants and caravans in Okon. Unfortuantly many of the citizens of Okon are conscripted into the army infact the majority of the population are former conscripts or soldiers but Okon is a farming community of many products. Ranging from Shallowbarl and potatoes to Cattle however much of the surplus is sold to the larger sttlements around.
The hamlet is situated in the base of a large steep sided valley called the Sannar Glenn. But if you can scramble up onto the top of the Ridge you can see right out to the Zai sea to the west and to the east you will look out over Zhut Forest, and on a clear day you can see the tops of the Kirolian Mountains. To the south is Pasaque Port at the mouth of Carve Bay, to the north is the large city state of Orpon which is located on the Western Penninsulers.
Okon is lead by the Racona Family due to living in Okon for 9 generations and nearly 300 years, today it is lead by Eld Macc Racona and his son Onlee Racona.
'Ive visited Okon on more than one occassion during my travels, yet im always pleasantly surprised. The people here live a rough life but that just builds a strong community and instead of having five or six families. You end up with one large and tightly woven family stronger than any army.'- Knight Lyla Armstrong of Fehadla, former captain of the North Fleet, 11.4460
Trade and Geography:
Okon is situated in the base of a large valley of natuarlly fertile grounds allowing it to farm and have a reliable income. But due to the steep sides of the valley many also own livestock like sheep and cattle and herd them on the slopes or allow them to graze.
