Llide Regiment

Currently the Regiment is at a strength of 3,313 out of 4,248.   First battalion has only 44% of its total manpower (556 men out of 1,263). Second battalion is almost always fully staffed, while the Tencent and other divisions have varying levels of strength.

First Battalion:

Are provided with the standard light short sword and dagger, energy gems (if a sorcerer), Spell book, fur and leather armour, and the army sigil.  

Second Battalion:

Are only provided with the tools they require for their role, a light short sword, and the army sigil.  

Conscript Tencent:

Llide conscripts are unique in the fact they are provided with heavy steel plate armour, a large tower shield, a Fehadlan short spear, and a conscript sigil.

The high ranking officers do have personal horses which they only use in ceremonial duties, there is also a cavalry division which often act as runners delivering the supplies created by the second battalion.   The regiment also has 10 sharnets. These sharnets are contractions which are mechanical in creation yet powered by Magic perfect for Llide regiment. Sharnets are large 'wagons' that can act as workshops, hospitals, barracks, or temporary command quarters. They are simply large mobile platforms that can be converted into key structures. They are often deployed out when the second battalion is away from Arrslai'sten Fort for prolonged periods of time, or are loaned out to other regiments to use.

Llide regiment roughly follows the standardised structure of the army however a support battalion squad is a 10 man team of a specialised trade or craft. Platoons and troops will often combine many squads of different or similar trades or position for specific quotas or roles. For example; A platoon in the support battalion may include a squad of carpenters, a squad of blacksmiths, and a squad of leather workers which all work togerther to fix and supply weapons back to the regiments. Or a platoon may include 3 squads of medical proffesionals who set up field hopsitals and tend to victems of natural disasters or go to warfronts to ensure as many soldiers return home as possible.   These support battalions are usually configured to what they need at that moment in time, they are some of the most flexible when it comes to thier structure.   The first battalion however is quite rigid in its structure with each member of a sqaud specialising in slighlty diferent abilities to make them well rounded and adaptable to almost all situation. However all do learn some common abilities like sheild and heal.

Llide regiment is primary a support regiment with thier power battlion buffing allies rather than fighing themselves for this reason Llide regiment is often attached to other regiments. However it does have some fighting prowess by using thier conscript formations as shock troops and buffing them, this is great for quick skirmishes and raids but as the length of the battle increases their effectivness decreases.   Often when in battle alongside other regiments both battalions stay in the back line buffing allies from a distance and treating the wounded. The conscript tencent often falls back too as a last line of defence or as the first.

All training occurs at Arrslai'sten Fort.  

Power Battalion

Recive alot of training however to even volenteer you must already show some talent with power. After the first test they go through intial Army training learning the bare bones of military life before going into more advanced training in how to cast spells under duress, what spells to use and when, how to heal, and many other things. The training takes up to 20 weeks and there are annual tests training to ensure fitness and skills are maintained.  

Support Battalion

Do not recieve as much formal training. Support battalion soldiers are often veterans transfering yet many still volenteer as support. They complete the standard basic training at the keep before they move in with thier squad which they do not get to decide so they get sent to where ever they are needed. Where they are trained on the job under the supervision of a corporal.  

Conscript Tencnet:

Are constantly trained day after day thier basics are learnt often from more expericned conscripts or conscriptors.

The cost for the upkeep of this regiment is higher than other regiments of similar size, this is due to mages and sorcers requiring more pay as they are harder to come by, as well as the materials/supplies for the support battalion. However these extra costs are subsidised by the Dutchy to ensure the regiment is combat ready and that they can ensure that other regiments are combat ready.

Most recruits are ordianary people or craftsmen from slumber county or are transfers of veterans from other regiments looking to slow down. Conscriptors often travel to far reaching settlements to find already tough conscripts as they will be required to wear heavy plate armour each day. During thier travels conscriptors will encourage other power users to join the regiment   Support battalion recuritment is a little differnt as they regulary get volenteers from the Trade guild where many people hope to get better lives by serving in the army and learning a trade for when they get out. This makes support battalion extremly popular and often over subscribed.   Power Battalion recruitment is slighly different however as they often go to academies or places of study to try and find recurits who have a natual affinity with power. Comminsars even roam near temples and places of worship to gods which allign with thier ideals to try and recruit mages. But many recruits are common people who have a no other option.

Formed in 10.1764 after the siege of Cellyn Caldera in the north of slumber county where a very large raid of lesser species trapped a company of the Westoner regiment. They held off the raids with limited supplies, heavy casulties, and increasing corruption cases. It was two weeks before reinforcements arrived yet despite that time these soldiers held their ground; They were the sons and dauhters of blacksmiths, carpenters, alchemists, toy-makers, doctors. With their expertise they made their limted supplies last three times longer than they should allowing them to survive against the odds.   Armour was repaired from the dilapitated armour of Orcs, improvised maces from the teeth of goblins, and defences were created from the shattered bones of trolls. Somehow they survived from the ingenuity of common people. After the battle many were recognised for thier utter will to survive and a new regiement was formed: Llide Regiment, the regiment of fire. Symbolising the hope they continued to hold thoughout everthing and fires of forges that now supply much of the army.   A regiment designed to supply the army with weapons, armour, and support through arcane means, ensuring that the army and all its regiments had the best odds of survival.   Many people continue to join up despite the stigmatism of the regiment it now has, as it still holds a legacy for being the regiment of the common people. Once a regiment known for its resilance its swords and armour reached almost the entierity of the army. Now it is overshadowed by more distinguished regiments their lack of combat makes them seem weak, and unfortuantly recuruitment is slowing. Many wish to serve in regiments where they will be honoured heroes not glorified healers and blacksmiths.   Yet this regiment had a major role in the 11th great conflict as the lead stratergist in organising logistics through war torn regions often sending soldiers to defend cargo. This earned them recognition but after centuries of relative peace and safer roads their skills are no longer required.    

Major Battle Honours:

    The Whitwell Occult campaign- 11.1875   This was a long campaign against a large occultist group hidden within the caves of the Talon mountains near the town of Whitwell casusing major disruptions to the trade and transport of resources to the rest of slumber county. The group preyed on workers and work animals to fuel their ritual in an anticent undiscoved temple deep in the caverns of the mountains.   Llide was attached to the Honour guard regiment, providing them with continuous magical resistance against curses and corruption from a witches or wizards spell. The sorcerers of the regiment where also extremly useful in ensureing the army did not become trapped in the tight and confusing cave systems of the Talon Mountains.   The Occultist group was dismantled after a six-month long campaign of careful skirmishes in the caves and hidden temples. Llide’s endurance and magical support were deemed indispensable and absolutly essential to counter such power users. In repsonse to this Llide regiment started to put together squads specilly trained for these situations.     Defence of Queen Eorra - 11.2150   Llide regiement was attached to the reverered Whiteblade Regiment (the true Queen's personal regiment) as she was travelling with King Farand on a royal tour of slumber county. Llide regiement was to act as guides and additional security to an understaffed Whiteblade regiment through the dangerous landscapes of Slumber.   Unfortuantly on their travels a large group of seperatist outlaws succeeded on attacking the Queen and her entorage. The Whiteblades were spread thin from low numbers and additional duties, fortuantly Llide regiement had a number of troops present who were familar to the area as well as a few diviners together they were able to give the Queen enough warning to get to cover before a volley of arrows were launched from behind several rocks and alcoves.   Whiteblades rushed to protect the True queen while Llide's power users deployed arcane sheilds and the conscripts formed a sheildwall. Soon the sepratist group emerged and began a frontal assualt the conscripts remained strong with power users spliiting energy to form sheilds and to buff the conscripts. Whiteblade soldiers began to bring the fight back to this group by leaping off and over the conscripts, who maintained their position.   After a long stalemate the seperatists fled and the Queen remained unscathed, thanks to the quick thinking and perserverance of Llide's power users and conscripts. Unfortuanlty her husband suffered a fatal shot and did not survive the encounter. Yet the regiment was still praised for thier heroic defence but thier name became a bad omen in combat senarios. Some even refer to the regiment as King killers nearly a centuary after his death.
