Assorted Orphans

These are orphans (and alumni) of St. Jerome’s that the group may know, have relationships with and use as contacts, sources of gossip, etc.   Dante A senior with wavy hair and a severe heart defect, Dante enjoys carpentry, parties, and beer. Too much excitement is bad for him, though, severely limiting what can do, and even though he takes regular medication, is still often ill or tired and misses a lot of class. He likes taking care of the littlest ones, and often volunteers to help in the nursery.   Gabrio Already eighteen, Gabrio is supposed to be involved in vocational training and trying to find work. However, he suffers from deep rooted emotional disturbances that make him exceptionally quick to anger and suspicious of others. He has a hollow, underfed appearance due to food issues and can be something of a bully if he decides he is being singled out for some reason, and views such actions as merely defending himself.   Isandro Athletic and good looking with blue eyes and dark hair, Isandro is thirteen years old and it seems strange that he’s never been adopted. He seems healthy in every meaning of the expression, though his sense of justice sometimes gets him into fights. His first instinct is to always do the right thing, even if it means putting himself in danger. Luca is his best friend, and they’re usually together. Isandro is being trained to become a hunter.   Juan Carlo A big, burly senior whose taciturn manner allows most people to assume he’s not bright, though really he can be quite insightful if given the opportunity. He’s very handy where it comes to tools and fixing things, and has a very steady, reliable temperament. You can rest assured that if Juan Carlo says something, he means it.   Luca Sad seal, sad seal! Luca is an awkward, morose-looking thirteen year old with dark hair and large, dark eyes. He is Isandro’s reluctant best friend, kind of a crybaby, and a little chubby.   Nadir Nobody really knows why Nadir’s at St. Jerome’s, but he’s been there since he was a baby. He’s grown into a skinny boy of sixteen, with straight hair that falls in a dramatic mop over one eye. To a discerning eye, he appears to be of both European and Middle Eastern ancestry. He’s very genial and talkative, but a poor student, and never misses an opportunity to skip class.   Pablo Pablo’s a weird kid who looks no more than ten. He’s from Eastern Europe and his real name is Vasiliy, but it was thought a Spanish name might help him blend in better. He has a sickly, hollow-eyed look and suffers from some kind of learning disability and emotional disturbances. He has a service dog provided by a generous, anonymous benefactor—a small brown poodle. He will eagerly talk about ghosts or any other subject, as long as you’re nice to him.   Ricardo Ricardo’s a punk that smokes cigarettes behind the greenhouse. He’s a rabid football fan and a great player that picks up games whenever he can. He is fifteen, has wavy brown hair and steals from the kitchen all the time.
