Session XXV
General Summary
Dolmir and Chelsea assemble a party of mercenaries and set off to find the Hammer of Thromneal.
Missions/Quests Completed
Dolmir and Chelsea have spent the last three months gathering information about the Hammer of Thromneal. They translated the tablet and did further research, spending most of their money on this endeavour. They have finally ascertained the location of the Hammer, the Ancient Dwarven city of Dhargorum, in the Golden Hills. With this knowledge, they headed to Wickaryn to gather a group of unwitting mercenaries to help them on their quest.
The duo set up shop in the Tipsy Giant Inn at Wickaryn's River Gate. As an establishment favoured by travelers, adventurers, and mercenaries, it wasn't hard to find willing applicants but none were to their standards. Some were too intelligent, others too green, while some just got on the pair's nerves. Finally, they settled on a team with diverse skills and a tolerable disposition. They set off towards the town of Larkarden to meet a historian.
Jordri Nabblewobble was the foremost expert on Dwarven ruins in the Golden Hills and they found him in his office in the town of Larkarden. The room was full of oddities and trinkets and the Gnome himself was similarly odd. However, as soon as the city of Dhargorum was mentioned, he proved his worth, providing the party with a lengthy history lesson. The gnome decided he would follow them inside, forming a particular attachment to one of the newly hired mercenaries, a scantly dressed she-dwarf metalworker.
The party made their way through an abandoned mine until they reached an underground river with a stone bridge and an old obviously Dwarven structure. They had reached the outskirts of the ancient city. However, the way inside was not open and they were set upon by a small group of Goblins and a Bugbear. After defeating the Goblins the party stumbled onto an old construct, a demi-golem, which they activated by accident. What followed was a harrowing battle, but the adventurers came out on top.
The chamber in which they fought the demi-golem was obviously Dwarven, so where was the entrance to the City?
