The party left the town of Thanorum and traveled a short way down the road before setting up camp for the night. In the meantime Nue and Darius, who had fallen behind in the Mycelium Cave, started to catch up to them. Nue and Darius decided to look for them in Sal's saloon but got into a fight with three drunk Dwarf miners. They killed the three but not before the alarm had been raised in the town. Sal, afraid he would be blamed for the murders, decided to run away with them and the three of them reached their companions a short while later.
The now reunited party, and Sal, traveled further east to the now-abandoned mining village of Kegdhorhom. They walked through the collapsing mines until they reached a cave-in, where they found an ancient passage leading to the old dwarven halls. At first, they walked through caves where they encountered a goblin patrol, defeating it quickly. Soon after they encountered a larger group of goblins this time leading a cave bear with them but the party still prevailed.
After traveling through the caves for some time, they found the entrance to King Thomyor's Hall. There they found inscriptions on the wall, detailing the king's rise to power and his victory over his cousin, King Sorrel. They also found Thomyor's final resting place and his enchanted axe, which Dolmir promptly took for himself but stopped the party from fully robbing Thomyor's grave. Nue then solved a puzzle and opened the door leading further into the dungeon.
In old Thomyor's throne room the party found the goblins' base camp, with a hobgoblin occupying the dwarven throne wearing a crude crown on his head. The ensuing fight was brutal, with half of the party getting knocked unconscious at some point, but they prevailed in the end, just in time to fight a cave troll, which the goblins had chained up further in the dungeon. They managed to defeat the beast and decided to rest there for the night. Chelsea was almost kidnapped by a trio of goblins in the middle of the night, who had previously run from the fight, but he managed to hold off for long enough and the goblins were fought off.
The party then left the dungeon, traveling the last leg through the caves and reaching civilization, the village of Vindmir in the foothills of the mountains, where they found food and lodging.
