Demographics
The cities population consists mostly of Humans, with a large Dwarvish population. An Orcish minority is also present.
Most of the cities inhabitants work on the docks, with Human, Dwarvish and Orcish workmen carrying heavy burdens to and from ships or working in the shipyard. The middle class consists of minor merchants, scribes and bank workers. The upper class is made up of local nobles who have houses in the city and rich merchants and bankers.

Government
The city, while owned by house Reinhild, mostly runs itself. Before being conquered it was an independent city state and it has retained much of its independency. It is ruled by a council of guild members, rich merchants and bankers.
Defences
Farport remained independent for so long for two reasons, its location within the Ox river's delta and its distance from the mountains. The dwarven kingdoms were the only real powers in the area and Farport has always been rich enough to keep a large standing army of guards. Its location within the marshy delta is not easily accessible by a large force, and the city is surrounded by tall walls.
Infrastructure
The city has a large seaport full of merchant ships and fishing vessels. The Reinhild navy, though quite small, is also docked here. The seaport also has a large shipyard. There is a smaller river port on a couple miles north of the where riverboats transport goods to and from Oxpond and beyond.
Farport is famed for its two banks, the Grand Bank of Farport and the Inner Sea Bank. Besides those two there are also many smaller banks and insurance companies which operate from the city.
Farport is one of the largest trade hubs on the inner sea and as such many merchants call it home. Different guilds can also be found within its walls, but the area doesn't produce much in terms of raw materials so only the shipwright's guild has any real influence in the area.
