Imir

Imir was the second of all gods, the first child of Sirona, and the instigator of Amion's creation. After he was born, he created the gods Athar, Gunir, Edona, Mirena, Indea and Bestia, the deities of the natural world.

Description

Out of all the pantheon, there are the most records of Imir manifesting himself before mortals. However, most of these records come from the Church of Harmony, thus are regarded with suspicion by some. This is compounded by the fact Harmonian reports all differ from those outside the church. Records from members of the church tell of a tall, handsome male figure, wreathed in divine light, usually in golden armour. This is at odds with sightings from others, who typically speak of an elderly looking male, slightly hunched and using an ornate wooden walking staff. However, all records hold his demeanour to be genial and kindly.
Those who have seen Imir in visions and dreams claim similar forms to those who have seen his worldly avatar, be they Harmonian or otherwise. One thing all of these individuals have in common is speaking of Imir bringing them to a peaceful forest clearing, with the sound of trickling water suffusing the air around them.

History

Imir was the first god created by Sirona, and soon after his birth, erected the blank slate that would be crafted into the world of Amion by the pantheon. He soon created the gods of nature, then populated the natural world, seeding the plants across the land. Once he had finished this, his children filled the world with other natural phenomena and creatures.

Relationships

A small number of individuals worshipping Imir hold that along with the plants and natural world, he created the races of Amion. This belief is widely seen as heretical, especially by devotees of Sirona, the goddess of life. Some claim the Church of Harmony subscribe to this belief, though they publicly deny this. Many followers in Irlalion, and other nature focused worshippers decry the Harmonian church, claiming their reliance on civilisation and ostentatious centres of worship goes against Imir's true tenets.

Worshippers

One of the most widely worshipped gods in Avalyra, Imir has followers of all races and locations, particularly in communities with a healthy respect for the natural world. The Church of Harmony in Lightreach, the largest religious organisation in Avalyra, is known to hold Imir in high regard. The town of Irlalion also openly worship him over other gods, with a devoted shrine to him holding special place in the city.
