Ebon Maw
The largest of the Orc Tribes in the Northern Reaches are the Ebon Maw Clan. They make their home northeast of Whitemill. Compared to many of the other tribes, the Ebon Maw are a relatively peaceful group, not seeking out conflict. However, when angered or defending themselves, the clan is full of fearsome warriors, none more so than their chief, Rhozzun Bronzeblade.
History
In 378, the town of Whitemill was attacked by an orcish clan known as the Face Eaters. They were fought off by the city, with the help of the Giant Killers and the Bloody Maw tribe. Later that year, these two tribes merged, their chieftans marrying. They became the Ebon Maw and wiped the Face Eaters from the Reaches.
Religion
The Ebon Maw clan hold the old orcish gods, Begtar and Sokdos in high regard; the majority of the clan are devout worshippers of the two. However, unlike some other tribes of the plains, they do not see Krothys as inherently evil, instead as a force keeping the darkness of the world from taking over. They believe that others who call Krothys evil simply do not understand the work the god does. This difference in opinion has led to conflict with the Bone Tusks many times in the past, with relations between the tribes tense.
