Alain II Hir

High King Alain II (a.k.a. "Hir (the Tall)")

Reign

Alain II Hir, the son of Judicael I was the High King of the Lethaned from 505 - 555 SI, succeeding his father to the position. He was succeeded by his own son, Urbien.   With the threat from the Fortunate Isles temporarily quelled by his grandfather, High-King Alain I, Alain turned his attention to the Korrigan of the Ar Goat, waging wars against the Kriores of Ker-Malastred. During Alain's rule, wide stretches of the interior forests, including the Brekilien would be clearcut for farming and settled by Bediz.   The Yellow Plague struck Albia during this time, driving out Cadwaladr, the ruler of the last Bediz kingdom on the island. Alain took in the self-exiled king as an honoured guest, but redirected him to Lupino rather than assisting in a reconquest of Albia.   During his reign, he founded the town of Konk-Kern
