Alexey Ostrov

Alexey Ostrov is the quiet and unsettling mentalist of Zorin's Magnificent Traveling Circus. Functionally mute, Alexey communicates almost entirely through powerful telepathic abilities, a skill that both unnerves and mystifies those around him. Despite his young appearance, he exudes an air of deep wisdom and otherworldliness, his wide, pale eyes often gazing off into something unseen. He often clutches a stuffed bear, an object of apparent personal significance. He is Karl Ostrov's twin, and although the two of them share a psychic bond that allows Alexey to "Cast" through his brother as readily as himself, they couldn't be more unlike one another. Alexey has demonstrated abilities that affect both time and space, matching what Orian and Tashi have pieced together about Falāk-zādeh magic. Yet, Alexey claims he has always known how to manipulate reality in this way, although years of practice have refined his control. His acts with his brother Karl feature breathtaking and seemingly impossible feats—teleportation, midair knife throws that defy natural laws, and illusions that blur perception—all contributing to the spectacle and mystique of the circus.
