Holly and Jolly

The siblings are short, but wiry for their age. Their muscles have been honed by their scrappy and energetic fighting style, which they use against Lethargians and all others who threaten The Winter Solstice Spirit.

Both siblings have long, shaggy, unkempt manes with a colored candy stripe running through it. Holly's skunk stripe is red, while Jolly's is green.

Jolly almost constantly has his tongue sticking out.

Holly and Jolly have ample experience fighting wendigoes, particularly Lethargians. Their fast and energetic fighting style stands in stark contrast to their foes' subdued, passive tactics. They will attack from opposite directions, confusing their opponent. When one of them gets close enough, they will deal a series of sharp kicks to the Lethargian's box, cracking it open and exposing the wendigo.

The siblings defeat their lethargy-inducing enemies simply by outlasting them. They will swarm around the target, quickly striking and poking at them, until the Lethargian burns itself out from frustration. Then, they will blow it apart with Undifferentiated Anima and banish it.

Holly and Jolly utilize a variety of tools to overcome their enemies. Most of these are toys produced in the factories of Yule City, weaponized and infused with Undifferentiated Anima to aid in their fight.

The two wear hard candy pendants around their necks that serve as minor wards. These help them resist the Lethargians' depressing aura.

Holly and Jolly emerged into the Winter Solstice hero hall of fame rather recently in history. They were born towards the tail end of the Silver Era, when wendigo attacks were becoming more frequent.

Many of these attacks targeting Yule City, where they were born and raised, were from the wendigo general Lethar and its flunkies. Desiring to aid in fending them off, the two siblings developed their own unique fighting style that was tailored to combatting these apathetic abominations.

When they were both 13 years old, they were given special hard candy pendants to protect them from the Lethargians. It was then that Holly and Jolly put all their training into practice. With brains, swiftness, and determination, they sent Lethar itself running for the hills that year. Since then, they have devoted themselves to protecting The Winter Solstice Spirit from the Lethargian threat.

Being figures of laughter and joy, the siblings like to pick on those they see as uptight. This spells disaster for beings like Professor Peeves, the neurotic manager of The Elder Goat's estate. While they never cross the line into doing something really harmful, Holly and Jolly enjoy watching Peeves squirm when they use their powers to litter powder snow onto a factory floor or enchant the toys to come to life and start obsessively hugging everyone. Despite Peeves' many attempts to catch them, they always get away somehow. The Elder Goat knows its them and thinks this is absolutely hysterical.
