Disease Burn
Disease burning is a magical healing spell based in the Fire element. While it is most infamously associated with The Fire Fragment - Yuuki, it is available to any faery or magical beast who is skilled in Fire magic.
Effect
Disease burn is a healing spell that is catered towards burning away disease with a hot flame. When it envelops someone, it targets hostile entities within the body; viruses, tumors, poisons, even wendigoes. With brutal efficiency, it immolates them, purging them from the host's body. It does not target healthy tissues.
When disease burning is used to treat Wendigo Possession, it works in a similar way to forcing Undifferentiated Anima into the host's body. The wendigo will thrash and strain against the magic, eventually purging itself from the host's body. In fact, some practitioners even mix the disease-burning spell with an Undifferentiated Anima-based spell to give it more power.
Side/Secondary Effects
While disease burning is an effective means of treating a variety of afflictions, it is incredibly painful for the target to experience. If it is channeled too long, the host can be left with psychological trauma. For this reason, healers will usually only use this spell if there are no other good options or if the host cannot afford to spend much time healing.
Manifestation
The disease burning spell manifests in the form of wispy orange flames that either envelop the target or penetrate into a certain part of the target's body, depending on how it is used.
This spell has no incantation. It simply requires the user to have touch with their inner flame and have moderate skill in Fire magic already.
This spell is easier to use for Fire elementals, though any elemental can potentially learn it. It is slightly more challenging to learn than Regrowth. Certain artifacts can cast a more powerful version of this spell, the most well-known being The Fire Fragment - Yuuki.
