The War of Continuity
The Conflict
Prelude
The reigning monarch, Ricardo Punto was a devisive and harsh leader. His progressive thoughts on sexuality and marriage as well as his bloodlust and imperialistic attitude led many opponents of his to wish him dead. He was assassinated in the middle of summer in Year -53. Having been openly gay and having no heirs, a huge debate was had over the next leader of the land should be. The final options were Ricardo's brother in law and his male lover. Two sides quickly emerged, one preserving the family name, and another focusing on progressivism. A week-long riot turned into a month-long skirmish, which broke into a 3 year war.
Deployment
Men from both sides fought throughout the streets and fields, taking small positions in houses and farms to advance. Nearly every person participating in the war was male, women couldn't hold government offices or have high paying jobs so the future ruler didn't matter as much to them.
Battlefield
Fought throughout the streets and plains, the landscape of Grenagem slowly became stained with blood and bodies.
Outcome
According to the Imperial census, nearly 87% of the male population was killed in the Civil war, allowing women to hold an extremely significant majority for years to come.
Aftermath
Being in power for nearly 50 years, she and all the other women who now ruled the stable, successful bureaucracy realized men weren't needed. The female-led government has lasted since then and men are still seen as unfit to rule.
