Roza Islands

The Roza Islands were discovered by the Grenagan Empire in the Year 124. The local technology was primitive compared to that of the Empire, which allowed the Empire to conquer the islands in just three days. Prior to the Grenagan conquest, the Roza Islands had a population of 75,000 locals. Following the conquest, 67,000 locals remained, and 6,800 Roza men and 550 Roza women were brought back to Grenagem to be assimilated.

Geography

The Roza Islands are a small collection of volcanic islands in the ocean, 930 miles west of Grenagem. The archipelago consists of seven islands in a crescent shape. The two largest, located in the center of the crescent, are known as the Ocalos (colloquially 'The Eyes' in Grenagem). They are 2,630 square miles and 1,960 square miles. The five islands on the outskirts of the Ocalos are known as the North and South Dezares ('The Teeth' in Grenagem). The two islands in the North Dezares are 670 square miles and 460 square miles. The three islands in the South Dezares are 490 square miles, 530 square miles, and 320 square miles.

Natural Resources

The Roza Islands are especially rich in Alumentum, boasting a higher concentration than any other known land. In addition to this, the Alum here is also the highest grade that has been found. Because of this, the Grenagan Empire has begun a laborious mining campaign to extract as much of the Alum as possible. This has destroyed much of the natural landscape and displaced tens of thousands of Roza people.
