Airship
The most important invention of its time, the Airship is responsible for Grenagem 's immense power and reach as an empirical powerhouse in the world. Through the ingenuity of the nation’s top minds, they had developed a way to bring their might to the skies, a feat not done before in history. Modeled after the concept of a literal ship that sails through the air, the airship is largely made of brass and canvas.
Brass makes up the bulk of the body. The body of an airship is a large capsule, almost as if you took a traditional navy vessel and put a cap on it. There are areas that are open to the sky air, but due to the thinness of the air as you ascend, an enclosed space is needed in order to protect those within.
The balloon that keeps the ship afloat is made of an industrial canvas material that is easy to inflate and easy to fix in the event of any damage. The canvas is about 4x thicker than regular canvas, so it is able to keep all the hot air within. On most airships there is only one balloon, located directly above the brass capsule, but on larger ships there are three - the largest one directly above the brass capsule, and two smaller ones located on the sides of the large one to help keep the ship balanced.
The ships themselves are roughly the size of your standard galleon, at 50 meters long. The height of the balloon when fully inflated makes the height of the ship roughly 10 meters. tall. These ships are large and require a large amount of horsepower, so powerful engines are situated in the back of the ship, powering the large fans that decorate the sides of the ship that help create the thrust needed to push the ship forwards, as well as powering the largest rear fan. There is a fin located on the rear of the ship, as well as two smaller fins on the sides, which are responsible for steering and navigation.
Each airship have an engine room, a cafeteria of sorts, a sleeping bay for workers, and a control room for the captain and navigators. The captain and navigators each have their own private rooms.
