The creation of the Five Races found in the modern world.

The world’s vast array of conflicts from the past were mostly lost to time after the Fifth Millennium War. It was particularly brutal and resulted in near extinction for most races. People were set back to square one and trying to just get by. When the dust finally settled and the survivors regrouped, they were visited by the gods.   The gods were displeased with the elves of Sorra who had created the atom bomb, but understood it had been created as a last defensive resort. Leading up to and during the war the Sorra elves had tried to remain neutral and negotiate peace and for this the gods blessed them. The Sorra elves loved the lakes and sea so the gods gave them the ability to swim and breathe underwater. However, as punishment for building and using the atom bomb, they made them physically weak and vulnerable to electricity so they could never build such a weapon again.
The Sorra elves moved to the wetlands and coast in the south of Amora and established Sorradai-mon which came to be called Sorra's Domain by the other realms. They became fishlike in appearance, growing fins and gills, but retained most of their elvin anatomy. They traveled the continent on archeological expeditions searching for ancient texts and technology among the ruins. They were able to recover most of the designs of the atomic bomb but they did not want to destroy them. Instead King Fasolan had them sealed up, never to be used again but available for reference so they could prevent anyone from recreating the device. They used the recovered texts and tech to catapult themselves ahead of the other races by hundreds of years. With the horrors of the Fifth Millennium War fresh on their minds, the Sorra followed a strict isolationist policy for over a millenia, using their technological prowess to deter travelers and live in peace. However, when Prince Doraphen inherited the throne in 987 AMW he opened the borders of Sorra's Domain to trade and diplomatic relations with the Treaty of Gold.   The gods were also displeased with the goblins. They had hidden in their fortified cities and used treachery and deception to defeat their enemies without honor. The gods cursed them to travel endlessly in search of a place to live, never being able to establish a permanent settlement where they could hide from hardship.
The goblins wandered the hills and wastes, never able to make a permanent settlement due to the gods curse. The Seltik tribe eventually found their way to the frigid mountains in the north which they named the Kakas Dremonta, meaning Twin Mountain, for the two prominent peaks of the range. They discovered and tamed the Great Ironfeathers living in the cliffs which allowed them to travel more easily through the air. The birds became vital to Seltik culture for clothing and transportation. The Seltiks were deeply embarrassed by the lack of honor from their ancestors and honor and loyalty became key virtues to Seltik culture. The Seltiks became the most powerful goblin tribe with their command of the skies. Small tribes still traveled the plains and foothills as nomads but some formed loose alliances with the Seltiks for protection.   The gods were angry with the orcs who had been especially violent in the war. They cursed them so that their bodies became hard like stone and they would eat dust and raw meat like the barbarians they had been.
The orcs moved to the Jo’gobbad Desert and the Engdr region. Their hard skin allowed them to endure the sweltering heat of the volcanic land and desert sands where they discovered rich ore deposits. The Oogdrük clan built their stronghold at the foot of the volcano Eirabür where they found a seemingly endless source of gold and jewels. They also grew taller and stronger than any other race in Amora. Their capital city of Rdmund is the most industrious orc city, churning out tons of raw metal, gems, and metalwork. The Oogdrük are the biggest and strongest of the orc clans but they hire other clans to serve as militia and mercenaries to protect their wealth so that they can lounge in their comforts. The Oogdrük are not lazy. Fighting and war are part of orc culture. When they are not mining or lounging, the Oogdrük spend their time doing hardcore training in intense conditions to harden their skin and skills.   The elves known as the Hylak received the worst of the gods' wrath. They had been the initial instigators of the war, seeking to conquer the other races, but they had fought honestly. As a result the Hylaks were allowed to remain on Amora, but they lost their longevity and became humans. The gods turned their skin red as a sign of their curse as fallen elves and the innocent blood they had spilled.
The Hylaks remained in the plains and grasslands along the west coast with the humans. They kept their elf-like appearance but did not live past 100 years of age. Some Hylaks intermarried with humans and mottled their red skin to more normal pinks and tans. Now only purebred Hylaks have the deep red skin as a mark of their curse. They were angry with the gods for cursing them into humans and vowed to get revenge. They became obsessed with finding ways to prolong life and completing their conquest. Their obsession with life and revenge on the gods led to many scientific discoveries. The Hylak city of Myrcoth was the hub of scientific discovery and advancement in all Amora. They wanted to control the elements and become essentially gods bent on overthrowing the gods that had cursed them. Rydlyn I was one of the few Hylaks who had not been cursed and kept their nature as elves. He and the other elves became sages to the Hylaks, trying to offer wisdom and guidance to their people but refusing any titles of king or ruler. The sages wanted their people to become honorable and respectable people again and used their longevity to establish schools and collect volumes of wisdom. During the Sixth Millennium War, the Hylaks turned on the sages and killed all but six including Rydlyn I. Rydlyn fled with his wife and young son, Rydlyn II, to live among the Volta who welcomed them graciously. He lost contact with the other five sages, knowing only their general location from their last meeting during the Sixth Millennium War.   The human race were the best off of the races. They had been the most numerous of the races and fought nobly and bravely despite their military disadvantage. Only a few hundred of the millions of humans managed to survive the ruthless attacks of the Hylaks and orcs. The humans lay claim to the fertile plains and hills of the west coast and rebuilt many of their cities. They were blessed by the gods to fill the world and become a great race as long as they remained honorable and true. The gods established the Kingdom of Hilana and anointed Bartus of the humans as the first High King with their blessing to rule and reign over all Amora. Each race was free to live how they wanted in their own realm or sub-kingdom but they had to recognize the High King as their supreme ruler and swear fealty to him. Amidst these everyday faces, Wilhelm Rydlyn I was born (this will become important later).
