Proxsola is established by Rydlyn I
So what makes Proxsola so important? It all ties back to the Rydlyn name. Being an elf, Wilhelm Rydlyn I experienced several lifetimes of hardship after the the fifth Millennium War and vowed to create a haven that could protect all peoples. He traveled with militias to personally deliver letters to form alliances and began getting hands to build the settlement. After a few years there were already a few hundred people that migrated to the western edge of the nest next to the Axian Sea. The group decided their settlement shall be called Proxsola and shortly thereafter Rydlyn had a son named after him. Unfortunately he did not get to be a father for very long, nor did he achieve his ultimate goal of having a safeguard from war. The orcs that had allied with the group believed they were getting a raw deal, and when their concerns were disregarded they attacked and killed Rydlyn and many others. The gods took notice of Rydlyn I’s commitment to peace and blessed his bloodline with sacred knowledge: that there will always be an endless cycle of wars. Rydlyn II kept this in mind and had an endgame for the next war. He established Rydlyn’s School for Combat and Creation. This is his magnum opus. This is what is necessary to keep people safe. This is what allows the brightest minds to fulfill their potential. Each class of students were small in number, never going past a dozen or so, and they were the focus of all four years rather than introducing a new class each year after. There were 59 classes, 236 years, where Rydlyn II led the school until his death, which saw the passing of the torch to his son Rydlyn III at the young age of 130. Now with 6 classes led successfully to graduation, Rydlyn III has to lead the largest class in history through a turbulent time. Whatsmore, Rydlyn II began keeping tabs on the Hylak kings looking for any sign that they were plotting war against Hilana or Proxsola, which Rydlyn III continued after his father passed. Five years after Rydlyn III took his fathers place as dean of the school, he heard that the Hylak king Vascilias was personally overseeing tests to create a hybrid supersoldier using the best traits from each race. Rydlyn hoped it would fail and decided to do nothing. In 998 AMW, Rydlyn III heard that the Hylak king had made a breakthrough in genetic manipulation and created a viable hybrid lifeform. Frantically, Rydlyn personally organized a secret operation to infiltrate the Hylak lab and destroy their progress. When they found the lifeform, Rydlyn was stunned to see it was a baby and didn’t feel he could kill an infant. He instead chose to steal the baby and destroy the research, but his hesitation cost him the life of his best friend and a dear student, Brandon and Candace. Rydlyn couldn’t face the child and gave him to be raised by the young couple he had taken on the mission, Jo and Marri. He made them promise never to reveal the child’s true identity or speak of their secret mission to anyone so the Hylaks would never find him. Jo and Marri named the boy Lenk, because he is the missing link to the Hylaks conquest. Attendance at Rydlyn’s school has become the coveted opportunity for young men and women in Proxsola. Girls were only allowed after the 43rd class. Rydlyn School didn’t focus on just combat and military for the eventual war, Rydlyn II built upon his father’s dream and added arts, science, politics, and business courses to the curriculum to create leaders in every aspect of Proxsolan society. Every Rydlyn graduate went on to become successful military leaders, scientists, businessmen, and politicians that steered Proxsola to prosperity and peace. Rydlyn graduates were so successful that people began to assume that if you went to Rydlyn School you were destined for fame and fortune.
