The Hobgoblin Empire has been capturing and breeding Ulfen warriors (of both sexes), whether the Empire sees this as the next stage in their development or merely another way to spread fear and terror to the Dark Ocean is difficult to determine. They have allowed the children of these unions to train and fight with the purebred Hobgoblins.
