Warforgers Session #2 Report

Far across the Astral Planes.

In the lands of Alms Furth, cutoff from the stars.

The city of Dorn sits beneath an emerald moon.

The Giant Sea Turtles meander through the bay. But far from the city. Across the burnt wreckage of the ruined district. Deep in Dorns ancient sewers. The dead intured at The Temple of The Vigil stir at their tombs desecration. Hannislats the Remaker has The Blank Tome, and the bird Hex, now he works to awaken something that lies intured here. Something old.

Our heroes began their day of fun by going with Rurik to The Old Pit. With money paid for fighting, and counterfitting gambling ring avoided. They watched a fight. Hex Got a drink, a gift from a fine prostitute named Erzella. Tainted with a spell that made him captive to Hannislat the Remaker.

Hex has been stolen away by a spell. But the party quickly made their way down into the sewers. Their new friend Old Hog helping track. They slew mummies, helping distract so Hex could escape. Fighting their way out they fled back to the Broken Beak Tavern. Fetching leader Kildraks armor.

Our heroes and their new companion Old Hog reach the tomb once again.

But the mummy corpses are all gone.

Old Hog sniffs the air.

"Something foul has happened here." He whispers.

A gurgling and strange chorus of moans echos softly down the sewer.

Coming from the dig site.

It is here our story begins...

Session Report

Date: 4-23-2025

Our adventure begins with our heroes unwinding in the Broken Beak Tavern. Kildrak spends some time planning for the next leg of their journey. Gathering supplies and purchasing a map from the Cartographica of Dorn for 50gp. While unpacking he finds Scroll Sending Rings, stowed in his pack by Leo.

Down in the Tavern, Rurik played his drums, a barmaid catching his eye. Whispers of Death walking the streets reminded them of their own sightings of death while stationed at Fort Heigal. An ally against the Necroking.

Hex sought out the Great Scroll Hall of Dorn to find out more on The Blank Tome. Instead, learning about a recent discovery called Soulforging.

STEVE went searching for Decks of many things. It took hours before he finally found the card peddler Thanatos. Offering him the deck of Wildmagic for 3000gp. Low on funds he sold his goods for gold and set out to find more.

As the sun started to sink low all but Kildrak went to The Old Pit. Rurik to fight for glory, STEVE to win some coin, and Hex to find a lady. Rurik settled with Fraxton, the Giff fight manager of the Pit.

"50g to fight. Winners can take 100g for the win or risk it on the next fight four 100 more."

Fraxton also warned about the Goblin bookie Proxel who was paying gambling winnings with counterfeit coin. So STEVE steered clear.

The first fight began with Humphrey and Old Hog taking to the ring. A Hawkish Aarakokran lady of the night named Erzella plied at Hex with a free drink and a fun offer. Eager to spend time with Erzella, Hex downed the beer and cheers errupted as Old Hog won the bout.

But something was wrong with Hex. His body slipped into a pile of ooze on the floor that quickly slipped down a drain and into the sewers. Then the Fraxton called out "Next up we have Rurik vs. Old Hog!"

To eager cheers Rurik approached the ring his eyes set on a quick fight so he could turn to aid his melted friend. Old Hog saw the look of worry masked on his face and asked what was wrong. Hearing Rurik's friend was in need of aid Old Hog forfeited the match and set to following the trail.

Rurik sends Darwin Hinksplot back to the Broken Beak Tavern to gather their fearless leader. Kildrak, worried for a member of his Sacred Order, left the tavern without even donning his armor.

STEVE shrunk down to the size of a mouse, slipping down the sewer grate to follow. Hex was long gone, stowed in a bottle on the hip of Hannislat the Remaker by the time STEVE arrived.

Rurik puts hand on Erzella bringing her along for and questions. The Old Pit bouncers stopped him in his tracks. Once outside the party pulled open the sewer grate and went down into the dank darkness below Dorn.

Following Old Hog they passed under the Ruined Quarter of Dorn. Heading straight for the Temple of The Vigil. The people of Dorn hold to the Old ways. Choosing to bury their dead. And the dead do not stay dead these days. Since The Moons Betrayal the Temple has become a prison for the dead, dangerous and barely contained.

Hex retakes his form, dumped into a cage by Hannislat. The rest of the party find Mummies keeping watch just outside of the Hannislat's Digsite into the Temple of The Vigil. During the fight Kildrak was struck by a mummies curse. Hex used Seize Undead to wrest control over one of Hannislat's minions.

After the fight Kildrak does a prayer of healing. Muradins anvil rings through the prayer. Old Hog helped out with the ritual after his own rite. Then our heroes trekked back to the Broken Beak Tavern to get Kildrak's armor.

Then on their way back to the Temple of The Vigil, Old Hog's sword wanted to talk to Kildrak. So Old Hog let Kildrak hold Niflung's Jabber. The sword talked to Kildrak in his mind. Telling him to find Morgrains Tome somewhere in the High King Tomb. He said that his ancestors will guide him in the ways of Soulforging so he can make his own soulforged weapons. Then eventually new Warforged.

What will they find in the Temple of The Vigil?

Will Hex get The Blank Tome back?

Will STEVE ever remember his past?
