The Slap
A Faction that began as a curiousity for Xandar Naïlar, the Slap originated as the first printing press building in the city of Dianmallo. By all accounts, the Slap was named for its prime focus on the events in the Temple of Tulkas, as a way to bring more attraction to the famous fights that occured on a regular basis.
As time went on, however, the Slap began to also report incidents within the city that were of larger note. Sometimes, these reports were at the bequest of the King, who saw great value in the ability to spread official information with such haste. Then other stories began to be reported in the Slap's prints until it became a normal source of news - in a literal way, the first "Newspaper" of the world.
Now the Slap has a monopoly on information in the metropolis. Reporting on the current prices within the Guild Center of Trade and Commerce, the best place to buy exotic goods week to week, the winning bets in The House of Hope Casino, all the way down to the upcoming fights in the Temple of Tulkas, which still remains a large centerpiece of this newsletter.
Most people rely heavily on the Slap for their source of current information in the city. However, some who have been the victim of a "poor report" are quick to point out that sometimes the Slap's information is slanted toward the favor of its High Council benefactor.
