Session 7: The Glory's Hope

Began session on the third Manwës of Palesun, around 7pm.

The party, after all leaving the Deseo residence, reconvened in an alleyway to discuss the discoveries each had found. Darin had his owl soar above to scout the area, noticing that a cloaked figure had been perched stealthily on a roof nearby their location. So the party began to stealth their way back to the Gilded Keg, looking for a more private audience.

Upon arriving at the Keg, they noticed a burley ogre with a keg next to him, looking dour and angry, blocking the door. Gunther began to speak giant to him and was told that the ogre was looking for Rupert. Rupert joined in and learned that Gubnash was looking for a job after his former employer had died. Rupert hired him, and Gubnash went to work serving drinks. Everyone in the bar quickly exited after Gubnash moved from the door.

Once inside, Darin took up another swoop with his owl to discover that the cloak figure couldn't be seen, but also that a strange large owl figure was perched above, staring daggers at the familiar. Darin, being familiar with the form of Glasyia, took a large swig of liquid courage and went out to speak with his patron. He was thus scolded for his behavior, and was warned about a Shtriga Nonna (deduced by Darin to be a hag name), but no other information was given.

Meanwhile, in the Keg, Gunther blew off some steam while conveying the near attack of the Redblades on Verist day. He formed a clever cypher for his father to read to fill the Grove District in on the potential invasion.

The rest of the planning centered around Rupert trying to infiltrate the Black Iron Pact through this deal with Qar and the Beams. Plans were made to enter the Glory's Hope District and go from there.

Once in the Glory's Hope, the party made their way to Breacharm's Reach. Outside the glaive overhang, Gunther had a voice, from Tryp, speak to him, "The only way you really lose is if you don't get back in the ring." Then cackle madly and fade out.

If it was fate, Gunther fell right into a fight with Skällrog the Braided, a heavily bearded dwarf monk who pummeled Gunther while a Buzzed Honey logo was magically placed on his back for the duration of the short fight.

Following the fight, Gunther was met by Wrag Bloodthumb, a half-orc with a prostatic arm and a left eye patch. He gave Gunther a potion to recover and invited the party to his establishment, Dirty Fightin' Wares. He also got addicted to buzzed honey and was interested in picking up a deal with Nigel and Darin to sell it at his business. He did mention in brief that his supplier was not selling as much recently. His deal was that he would give Darin and Nigel 12gp per sale of honey from the store. The offer was accepted.

From there, the party had to stay the night in the district, waiting for Qar to return the next day. They watched the temple fights at the Holy Spit Tavern and saw an incredible amount of fighters with very interesting and memorable names, and unforgettable descriptions fight one another in battle after battle. It was an epic evening streaming the Temple of Tulkas.

In the morning, the party made their way to the Beams headquarters, where Rupert met with Qar and was given an offer to work for him under the table unofficially. His task was to eliminate and bring in the head of Fez Turnbuckner, a Kender miscreant causing problems in the city. He was to do so within the next tenday (1st Mandos of Highsun).

While waiting, Nigel was approached by a currier giving him a note from his father, which is where the session ended, on the 3rd Mandos of Palesun.
