Verdant King/Queen

The title of Verdant King or Queen is given to the member of the family who receives the Mark of Verelion, which the family claims to be the result of a divine ancestry. While the Sylperen family claims to be a direct line of descendency, there have been occasions when the Mark is not passed to the firstborn of the Sovereign, but to the second, or sometimes third and in one particular occasion, the fourth child. 
  The mark of Veraleon comes with a curse of sorts, after it appears on the half-elven heir, and the heir is always half-elven with emerald eyes, even if their siblings are not, the current Sovereign will die no later than 25 years after as it has been every generation. When the current Sovereign dies, the heir takes power immediately.
