Fae Human (F-aye Hyu-man)

Blood from years forgotten

“Annoyances at best, hiding among humans. We cannot let them create more monstrosities, they must be invited to our world and encouraged to create relationships with their own kind.” – King Lucean to Lord Knowlin.

History

Before King Lucean closed off the portal to the human world for good, Daimons could enter the human world freely, and 200 years before that, humans could even waltz into Alea without much trouble before King Florian I cast the spell to seal them from being able to see the portals. Way back then, it wasn’t uncommon for a Daimon to live and have a family in the human world, but if they continued to live there, after a couple generations of marrying humans, their blood thins until it is there, but almost completely untraceable. The first descendent of a human and a Daimon creates a Half-human, but the 5th would become human while the 15th might just become a Fae Human, the blood awakening suddenly due to either a prompting traumatic event, or just a large amount of mana. This is also the case with the children of Drairy, much less common but also a possibility.   Historically, Fae Human would find their magic, and then either be invited to join the Daimon in Alea, or stumble upon a portal themselves with only few choosing to remain in the human world. Since the closing of the portal, integrating newly emerged Fae Human into Alean society is difficult. The great library holds record of every Daimon or drairy that integrated into human society, and tracks their relatives, meaning when a Fae Human is born, the Alean librarians will know about it, send message to the King, and a search party is sent to retrieve the Fae Human and bring them to Alea.

Appearance

Fae Human appear completely human in appearance. They have no horns or coloured eyes. They could look any way and be any height, though usually not exceeding 6 feet and seven inches at most. Some choose to get the tattoos of the daimon or grow their hair like the Drairy, but some also choose to remain looking as human as possible, in hopes that they can return to their world.

Life Expectancy

Like Humans, Fae humans live up to around 90-95 years old on average and become an adult at 18.

Dwellings

The town of Gladia in Aborlaten is home to a large group of Fae Human, often brought here when they are taken from the human world. This subgroup of Fae has their own cultures and traditions, the most defining traits being a long pleat that exceeds the rest of their hair and the facial tattoos some get to channel their mana similarly to Daimon. Both Drairy and Daimon Blooded Fae live here. They are also scattered throughout Alea, with a large population in Delroy and Sylvia. Some Drairy-blooded Fae even travel to the Ferren Wilds to find their ancestors. Not much is known about how they are accepted there, however.
