Sorceresses of Besed

The Manda Sisters, Bhel and Aman, are Lhaka Orc, twin sisters of the Besed Orchold. Both sisters are practitioners of Divine Sorcery, making them two of the strongest healers, not only in their Orchold, but throughout the Thorn Horn. This gives them a lot of power in the Besed community. Couple this with the fact that both are claimed Draaof Kishi the Scola Jabbuk of Besed and one can see that their influence among the orcs of the Thorn is unparalleled. That said, this influence, along with the consolidation of power means the sisters are not always the most popular members of the orchold. Many in the scola think the sisters have too much influence over Kishi and the direction of the Besed's future.

The sisters were children when Scaro Wilds Orc came and took over the Lhaka orc lands in the Thorn Horn. They grew up resenting the new power in the Gramfells. This led them to aid resistance to the growing Besed power, even using their healing abilities to help Human fighters attacking the orchold's borders. According to Bhell, her view shifted as she saw the honor of the Besed in their treatment of slaves and defeated foes. Over time her alliance shifted and she joined the Besed, and becoming Kishi's draa.

Aman felt betrayed by her sister, feeling she had been seduced, or worse captured and brainwashed, by Kishi. Fleeing the betrayal Aman fell in with a fanatical Lhaka orc group that believed the Bura Orchold of Bura'a Valley would join them in their fight against the Besed. This poor choice ironically led to the end of the last resistance of the Besed power in the region as the Bura slaughtered every male that entered their territory, keeping the few females for breeding stock. She was rescued by her sister and Kishi a year later, when Bhell learned of her sisters fate.

After the rescue the traumatized Aman was held in Kishi's camp, nursed back to health by her sister. Once recovered she gave renewed her '"undying loyalty to her sister and absolute obedience to Kishi." Since this the sisters have been inseparable. The two, once fierce frontline fighters, have reorinated themselves to remaining in Kishi's camp. This is largely due to Aman never fully recovering from her treatment at the hands of the Bura. Aman never speaks to anyone other than Bhell and Kishi in the privacy of their camp. Most orc believe the Bura torture rendered her mute. A popular rumor among the orchold is that the Bura cut out her vocal cords and ate them in front of her. Untrue, but does show what the Besed think of the Bura.

The twins are rare among orc kind in that they have, or rather in the case of Aman had, red hair. A sign that there is strong Elf blood somewhere in their ancestral line. Aman's pigment washed away to a grey with her torture by the Bura. It never returned to normal. The sisters also have softer, more elf like features in their appearence as well, such as a thinner frame and sharp facial features that other races like Human find attractive. In fact, it is this beauty that the Besed used, sending the twins with Kishi to negotiate a peace treaty with Seely. Their eyes are a deep red, with even their sclera having a red hue. This has led most to believe the elven blood in their line is that of Juhl'are heritage.
