Wizards of Abjuration
Abjurers are Wizard that focus their studies of the Anon (Magic) and its ability to protection and defend. Though the most famous practice of abjurers is the creations of shields of various protections, their field of study expands into abilities to negate or counter harmful magic or creatures of unnatural origin. Particularly powerful abjuration wizards have even been known to create areas devoid of the Anon, albeit temporary.
Abjurers are, by far, the most common wizards encountered across Ethae in military service. This is, obviously, due to the nature of this school of magic. Many potential students of the craft are sponsored by governments to attend a college in exchange for an agreed upon number of years in service after graduation.
The largest and most famous college with an abjuration focus is Dover College on an island off the east coast of the Nopum Peninsula. It is also, ironically enough, the only wizarding college that does not admit students sponsored by military patrons.
Abjurers favor the Staff as a conduit tool for their casting. Its size gives an advantage in storing more power within. Many of the woods used in creation of these items augment protective magic, and the larger size of staves means the potential of more storied energy. Staves also have the space to add a Gem or other conduit item that can boost abjuration magic.
