Messenger

Concept and Written By James Woodwright
Messengers work across the land of Willinghurst Cray deliver messages and packages across the land. When they go from place to place, as in from Draurough to Blackridge.   Each place has its own courier company. When travelling to each another town they often hire horse-driven carts to get there. The messengers wonder about the place they work. In Draurough the messages that pay well are to the University, namely the Trade Rooms and servants and applicant's quarters. While other places do not pay as well such as with a few Horns while the University area is closer to a Tusk or a few Tusks and Horns.   When delivering messages to the University a Town Guard with accompany them as they are a messenger and not a member of the University.

Career

Qualifications

The qualifications are to know where things are, as they are near equal to Town Guards, messengers can ask for directions from them. Typically its knowing which district of Draurough it is in. In the case of Blackridge it is knowing how close or far away from the mine it is. For Grey Harbour it is how close to the coast it is and for Wimborne it is which part of the coast line it in near.

Career Progression

Career Progression lies in the merit of the messenger and determines the path they will take, someone who is better at delivering messages will more likely be taking more of those than packages left at the courier company they work at.

Payment & Reimbursement

Payment is around 3 Antlers a week with an adjustment added which comes from the messages and packages sent by them and others. The better the messenger the higher the adjustment. This adjustment rarely if ever goes to another Antler so the maximum the addition is likely to be is 9 Tusks  The cost of the delivery is based on the distance of the delivery address. Mosty addresses are based on a street and the bussiness and name. Most time people with put on the district it is in. Those who were around may put the old name for the district for example before the Temple District became a thing it was called the Gardens District.

Other Benefits

The benefits of the Profession are that of travelling and providing a clear service to those around them. At their courier company they have the option to be fed.
