Hereswith Rowan

Hereswith Rowan comes from an established and respectable family of Albion. At Schola, she found her home in Horse House.   Once she left school, she entered apprenticeship in Albion's Ministry, settling into work in the diplomatic set, though with a number of limitations in larger geopolitics, since she was an unmarried woman.   Hereswith successfully made a Challenge for the Council in 1854, and became head of the Council in 1871.

Claiming the Tower
In Claiming the Tower, Hereswith has found professional success as a diplomat in Albion's Ministry, but she's hit the limit of what she can do in non-magical society. The book finds her exploring romance - but also the challenges that a seat on the Council might bring.
