Betleland Island
The Intilian Grand Duchy and the Kingdom of Castesia have both been settled upon this island peacefully together for a hundred years, but recently the Grand Duchy has demanded that all Castesian citizens vacate the island before the first snow falls or else there will be war.
Geography
Betleland Island is composed almost entirely of flat wetlands, with a few short hills to the north and north-east, the island has few if any natural landmarks. The Whitleter River, flows from the north-east down to the south-western coast, when rains are heavy, the river is swift enough even as the shoreline to sweep a horse off it's feet.
Fauna & Flora
The island is host to a variety of flora consistent with marshlands and lowlying hills. These include tough shrubbery such as sedge and dogwood, as well as rushes and reeds. Uncommonly found are the herbs known as Feria, which are well known for their ability to reduce fever and speed healing.
Fauna of the island include a wide variety of birds and small mammals, including a native indigenous species of thrush called the Yellow Spackled Thrush, which is prized for it's golden feathers and singing voice. Other indigenous creatures include mink and muskrat, both of which are commonly hunted for their pelts.
