Long Ago, Before Time Burned

    Over a thousand years ago, there was a war amongst the gods, almost every god participated in this war, except for three, Athos, the God of Righteousness, Aias, the God of Time and Umra, the God of Darkness and Shadows.   In the midst of the chaos, Umra snuck into the realm of Aias, and went to rewrite one of the Time Scrolls, however, while he was there, he knocked over a lamp and started a fire within the temple. This caused many of the Time Scrolls to be destroyed and the world at large to become broken; scattering and even removing, people, places, and things from the fabric of reality.   After completing his rewrite, he went to the Material Plane to enact his plan of creating an eternal darkness. However, the fire he started alerted the other gods to his actions, and upon realizing his ultimate plans, they made with each other an uneasy truce and together they went to the Material Plane and bound him in shackles imprisoning him in Euporie, the Red Moon. His attempts to break free causing the moon to occasionally disappear from the night skies behind a haze of darkness.  

The Days of Darkness

  The fifty years during which the God of Darkness reigned over the Material Plane became known as the Days of Darkness: A time when the sun never rose, and the moons shed no light.  

During the Days of Darkness, demons walked freely on the surface, death and destruction followed in their wake. In fear of a death beyond death, we sought and found a way out. We took to the skies, as our ancestors once did, and built the Sky Cities. Now we no longer have to fear the surface demons, but we still do not return to the surface. Why? Because even without the demons, the surface is yet too dangerous.

  The Days of Darkness was a time when monsters and demons roamed the lands freely, slaughtering anything and anyone unlucky enough to cross their path. A foul magical energy permeated the lands, warping both flora and fauna, and allowing sentient races access to what they called Demon Magic.   These foul magics receded from the surface when the gods locked Umra away, but they still remained in the darkest dungeons and deepest depths. The use of such magics was outlawed and any caught using it were summarily killed on sight.  

A New Dawn, An Era of Peace

  When the sun finally rose once again, a new Era was declared, the Era of New Dawn, and it was to be a time of peace. But peace never lasts..
