Margo Weedlebeam

Geertruud often sends stacks of handwritten pages to Margo, detailing her adventures and discoveries. Margo takes it upon herself to edit and publish these works, with a little help from her friends at the Gnome Workshop in Bridgeport. There, the gnomes have constructed a remarkable printing machine that now sits in the back of her office. This machine can produce numerous copies in a short time, and once a month, the rhythmic thumping fills the building as a Workshop technician arrives to help print the latest batch of books, brochures, or maps and to fix the machine if it falters.   Several free copies of each publication go to the Farenian Archives in Queenshaven, and the Great Library and the Guild of Cartographers, Mapmakers and Scribes in Bridgeport.   Margo finds Geertruud’s writing style rather blunt, so she enjoys “spicing things up” by slipping some of Geertruud’s personal anecdotes - often embarrassing ones - from her cover letters directly into the final publications. She also embellishes the maps with small, suggestive illustrations of Geertruud herself. These personal touches have made Geertruud’s works wildly popular. Each new publication creates a buzz, with followers celebrating its release and waiting lists at the library stretching for months. In fact, the mishaps and quirky tales from Geertruud’s life have become the main appeal for many readers, leading Margo to start inventing her own tales to add, sometimes even inserting herself into Geertruud’s stories. The thought of becoming a part of these narratives fills Margo with delight.   Currently, Margo is experimenting with adding animated images or holograms to the books using her illusion magic. While her early tests have been promising, she’s yet to make these animations reproducible by the printing press. Some of these magical early versions are displayed as exhibits at Gnomerado, enchanting visitors with their lifelike quality. To share Geertruud’s stories in another way, Margo has collaborated with Jamond, a sculptor in Bridgeport, to produce a line of collectible figurines. Jamond has crafted about a dozen miniatures so far, but Margo is brimming with ideas and envisions expanding the series to around 30 unique miniatures of Geertruud. These collectibles will be limited editions and sold at premium prices. Additionally, the Gnome Workshop has used the rare Geertruudia plant to create life-sized wax replicas of the figurines, which are now on display at Gnomerado in a dedicated Geertruud Museum managed by “Smallbottom & Weedlebeam” staff.   To support Gnomerado’s immersive experience, Margo officially sells “Whacker Coins”, which are tokens to enter Gnomerado and use its rides. Recognising that many of her customers aren’t gnomes, she also offers - unofficially - magical potions that transform them into gnomes for 24 hours. Using her magical skills, she brews these potions herself, allowing everyone to fully immerse themselves in the whimsical gnome-centric world of Gnomerado.
