Whispers of the Myth

Whispers of the Myth is an archaeologist guild. They send members out to retrieve items, interviews, images, etc of famous or historical events, persons, places, etc. They are a small group that constantly is looking for new members. Leaders are elected democratically. Their current headquarters is currently found in Egrukar. The headquarters of the Whispers is put to vote after four elections for Grand Master Whisperer have occurred at one location.

Goals of the Whispers of the Myth include expanding their knowledge of ancient civilizations, uncovering lost artifacts and relics, and preserving historical sites. They also strive to debunk myths and legends that may have been based on true events or historical figures.

Grand Master Whisperer is the title of the elected leader of the Whispers of the Myth. Elections occur every three years or if the Grand Master Whisperer dies an early death. The last election was held shortly after the passing of Bue Vraus's brother, Yuel who was the then current Grand Master Whisperer. Bue did enter the election but due to criticisms of his brother's bravado, he did not win. The Duties of Grand Master Whisperer are to negotiate funding from various groups for expeditions, setting the requirements to take on an expedition for guild members, training of mid tier archaeologists for the guild, testing artifacts found for any magical potential, and the distribution of artifacts to groups, museums, & auctions. The Grand Master is still permitted to take on expeditions themselves.

Structure

Below the Grand Master Whisperer, the members are divided into three tiers: High Archaeologists, Mid-Tier Archaeologists, and Junior Archaeologists. High Archaeologists manage expeditions and are responsible for training Mid-Tier Archaeologists. They also assist the Grand Master Whisperer in negotiating funding and distributing artifacts. Junior Archaeologists assist Mid-Tier Archaeologists and are responsible for tasks such as documentation and artifact preservation.

Public Agenda

Lillian Valtair was elected three years ago as Grand Master Whisperer and has since established new partnerships with universities and museums to expand their resources across Akun.
