Alyona Rackham (al-EE-oh-nuh)

As a small child Alyona was a victim of a pirate raid on her family’s home city, in which her mother died. She was taken on as a ships boy and took to the life well, quickly becoming fastest up the rigging and the steadiest hand in a gale. However, despite having a few mentors looking out for her she had a hard captain and many traumatic experiences both on land and sea that made her view the world with a rather disenchanted perspective.   In general she’s rather quiet until she has something to say, such as telling off someone being an ass or suggesting a more sensible plan of action. When riled up though, she’s known for cursing out people in an intimidating mix of different languages and sailor’s lingo. Her manner with her party is relaxed and bantery, a trust won after many adventures.   She joined the group entirely by accident while searching for her father in the Red Forest. Being unsuccessful in her journey, she took up with them to escape some bandits... and then a few days became a few weeks, and with the passage of time they became family. Unexpectedly, although meeting the party during a quarrel with Kei who was trying to pursue her, she ended up being in a relationship with the fighter Arthur. Unlike most, he didn’t try to hit on her or put on airs. He seemed genuine and kind, and she took a liking to him without meaning to at first. Now she would run through fire to keep him safe.   Being the ‘sensible’ one of the party, much of her time is spent facepalming at their antics and watching them be idiots with a fond smile. After losing what little family she had a couple times over the course of her life, she’d do anything to protect this one. However she is especially protective of Tim. She sees him as a younger brother, and has absolutely no qualms about getting in anyone’s face if they take advantage of him.
“I have to say, I wasn’t expecting my first experience of waltzing in a fancy ballroom to be in a creepy inn among a bunch of ghostly folk while being chased by some kind of undead monstrosity. Duck.”   "I spent most of my life on the waves, and when I left to go searching inland, I forgot how freeing... and how imprisoning it is." She gestures slightly at the horizon, "Endless potential and chaos." Turning a little, she waves to the ship, "Restrictions and order."
