Qarah
Qarah, titled "the Kind", was the leader of the Yasamaq Clan when the Everlasting Peace Treaty was created. The continent was named after her clan, not the other way around.
She was known as a stout dwarven woman, with long brown hair that was always up into a multitude of complicated braids. She was never seen without a smile on her face, and the corners of her eyes were wrinkled, accentuating her kind, grand-motherly look.
She was a very altruistic woman with a great sense of humor, and was known to be always ready to lend a listening ear to any of her children's troubles. She took the principles of Rodina very seriously, and so strived to be the best clan leader she could. By all surviving accounts, she succeeded, and all clan leaders since have been held to her standard - and, more often than not, found wanting.
Not much is known about the specifics of Qarah's life (mostly because of the poor record-keeping of the time), but two things are known to be true:
- She had many children; so many, in fact, that to this day, many people of Yasamaq believe that their lineage can be traced back to her, even if they do not belong to Qarah's Clan.
- She contributed to the early development of the continent's only city: Mundegap.
